No sooner had i said this than my dearest husband pulled me on top of himself. Uff, this man will seriously break my hand or my ankle. This is the last time I am asking him.
“jaan! Please get up naaaa! Pleaseeeeee!”

“fine. Don’t get up and don’t touch me for the next 4 months”

And my dearest alarm clock destroyed my most beautiful dream again.

7:45 a.m. not bad I still have another hour for myself.
At that time the door to my room opened and Maria aunty entered with my morning coffee.
“good morning SHONA”
“ Morning love”
“hmmmm. Now what kind of a morning greeting is this? I am telling you Shona change your ways otherwise we won’t have any boys marrying you” she scolded me gently.
This was our daily morning routine. Maria aunty coming with my coffee, me greeting her like this and then she wailing about my boyish ways and after that a scolding for my messy room follows.
“So” she said sitting near me.

Now this is really strange. Auntie’s going out of routine. Hmmmm … something is wrong.
“So honey, what do you want for breakfast today?”
Ok. Aunty’s being all sugar to me. Now something is DEFINITELY WRONG.
“Spill it!” I said
“what???” she said giving me a surprised look as of nothing was out of the way.
“ the reason you are being all sugar and fussy about me”

“ look maria aunty you and i both know that you never ask me what I want for breakfast except on my birthday and sometimes when i keep my room clean. But today is neither my birthday nor have i done the needful of keeping my room clean. So whatever it is just say”
“Hmmmm. So it looks like i cannot hide anything from you any longer.”
“Whenever were you able to hide anything from me ?” I asked with a smug smile playing on my lips.
“Yeah. Right. So there is no hiding anything from you right?”
“Absolutely not”
“Hmmm. So here I go. Shona your father wants to talk to you.”
“My father is dead. If you have forgotten”
“Shona, please. He is your father. That is your family. Give them a chance at least. Please Sho-”
“Didn’t you hear MY FATHER IS DEAD. I DO NOT HAVE A FAMILY. I AM SWARA BOSE. ONLY SWARA BOSE. DAUGHTER OF SHARMISHTHA BOSE. THAT IS IT.”
