It all depends on my family- A DevAkshi FF: Part 6

Hey, I am back with the next part of my FF.

Recap: Mission Nutritionist, and poha!!

Dev: Ok, ab thoda sa sugar..
Sona: Thoda sa!
Dev: Accha baba, thikh hai!
Dev purposely acts as if putting too much sugar.
Sonakshi: Idiot kahin ke! (she puts some sugar on the top of his head)
Dev (shocked): Arey! Kuch bhi karti ho yaar tum!
Sonakshi glares at Dev, and he laughs, as they continue making the poha.
At last, they finish making it, and both hi-fi each other.

At the same time, the doorbell rings.
Dev: Lagta hai Maa aa gayi.
Sonakshi: Perfect time!
Dev opens the door, Sara winks at Sonakshi, as she nods her head nervously.
Dev runs to Sonakshi as Ishwari enters.
Dev (murmurs): Best of luck!
Sonakshi (nervously): She’ll like it na?
Dev: Of course yaar! Don’t worry! (pats her cheek) And if she likes it, hum log celebrate karenge!
Sonakshi smiles, and Dev smiles back, giving her a thumbs-up.
Sonakshi gives Ishwari the poha.
Sonakshi: Auntyji, I know you don’t like me. And you are trying to get me out of the house, because you don’t like the food which I give you. But Auntyji, I give you that food for your own good, na. It’s only so that your health improves.

I am not doing it for my own interests, it is so that you can be healthy, and live a good life. So (gives her the poha), aap mujhe aaj se pasand karne lagenge, isliye aapke liya ye poha! Please have it!
Ishwari looks at Sonakshi, and takes the poha.
She eats it.
Ishwari: Ummmm…. wa! Kya poha banaya hai! Tum to accha khana banati ho.
Sonakshi: Nahi Auntyji, actually wo De….
But Dev runs there, and starts talking loudly, so that Ishwari can’t hear his name.
Dev (shouts): Arey maa, accha poha hai kya? To phir mujhe bhi khane dijiye! Aur mandir mein aapne kya kya kiya? Aapka din kaisa tha? Aur…
Ishwari (shocked): Dev! Tujhe ho kya gaya hai? Kitne sawaal puchega?! Aur chilla kyun raha hai?!!
Dev (sheepishly): Sorry Maa!
Ishwari (puts her arm around Sonakshi): I am sorry Sonakshi. I shouldn’t have treated you badly. Aaj se, hum dono friends! Ok?
Sonakshi: Thank you so much Maa!

Dev (POV):
I smiled, as Sonakshi hugged Maa, blinking her eyes to thank me. I winked, showing her a thumbs-up. I loved the way Maa was treating Sonakshi like her daughter.
However, at that point, little did I know, that this moment wouldn’t come back for a long time, as time was going to unfold its mask, to reveal something big…. something painful…. something tragic.

As Ishwari leaves, Sonakshi runs to Dev, and flings herself on him.
Sonakshi: Dev! I love you!!!!!!!
Dev (smiles): I love you too, Sonakshi!
Sonakshi leaves Dev.
Sonakshi: But Dev, why did you interrupt me when I was telling Maa that you were the one who helped me?
Dev: No, Maa doesn’t need to know that.
Sonakshi: Dev, you are the best!
Dev (smiles): You too!
Sonakshi: To, kya hum best friends ban sakte hain?
Dev: Tum to already meri best friend ho!

Sonakshi smiles and hugs him again.
Dev (in his mind): Best friend to kya, main to tumhe apna pyaar bhi dene ke liye tayar hoon!
Sonakshi: We have to celebrate, Dev!
Dev: Of course! Where do we celebrate?
Sonakshi: Ummmm…
Dev: I know! Aaj raat ko, Restaurant Superfood main ek party rakhte hain.
Sonakshi: Ok, toh, see you at 7:30!
Dev: Main tumhe pick-up karne aa jaunga. Address batao.
Sonakshi tells her address.
Dev: Ab to already 5:00 ho chuka hain. To, you can go now, and see you in 2 and a half hours. Acche kapde pehen lena!
Sonakshi: Ok, main Keechu bhaiyya ko bata dungi, Auntyji ke dinner ke baare mein.
Dev: Ok. Main Maa ko bata dunga ki aaj tum thoda early ghar jaa rahi ho.
Sonakshi: Bye!
Dev: Bye!
