Celebrity chef Kunal Kapur recently secured a divorce ruling in his favor from the Delhi High Court, citing cruelty by his former wife as the primary reason. The court’s decision overturned the family court’s initial denial of divorce, emphasizing the lack of respect and empathy exhibited by Kapur’s wife towards him.
According to reports, the judgment highlighted the severity of making unfounded accusations against a spouse in public, labeling such behavior as cruel. Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Neena Bansal Krishna, comprising the bench, stressed that when one partner demonstrates such disdain and disregard for the other, it undermines the essence of marriage.
Kunal Kapur, renowned for his role as a judge on the popular television show “Master Chef,” accused his wife of disrespecting his parents and subjecting him to humiliation. In contrast, his wife contested these allegations, claiming she made efforts to nurture a loving relationship and remained faithful to him. However, she accused Kapur of withholding information and fabricating claims to initiate the divorce proceedings.
