DECEIVED TOGETHERNESS (Chapter 2)

Hi guys, I am back. Thanks a lot for supporting me. I actually did not think of getting so much love and positive response from you all. So here is the next chapter. Enjoy and please comment. Suggestions are most welcomed.

CHAPTER 2
Radhika was doing her morning run when she saw a man standing behind a group of well-trimmed trees, staring at her. The sour taste of dread burned her throat.
” Please don’t let that man be a thug or lunatic “she thought.
Radhika was about to turn around and go when the man raised his head above the foliage. Strangely enough, he looked exactly like Arjun. Radhika stalled mid-stride and blinked twice, trying to make the spooky apparition disappear. ‘Was it possible that Arjun hadn’t really died, and no one had bothered to tell her?’ She inched closer and whispered, “Arjun?”The ghost of her lost love stepped from behind the plants and flashed the crooked smile that had never failed to make Radhika weak in the knees. But what he said next made all her excitements go away in a whoosh.

“Sorry madam, but do I know you?”
Radhika was shell-shocked. First, she couldn’t believe her eyes that Arjun was here and then again he refused to recognise her. She came closer to him to make sure and it was true! It was undoubtedly Arjun.
“Madam, are you alright?” the man asked.
“Arjun?” Radhika inquired again.
The man was silent for a moment and then said “I am sorry but I am not Arjun. My name is Aryan Raichand.”
“No. You are lying. Arjun, you tell me the truth once. Please. I am begging you.” Radhika was now holding his hand and crying profusely.

The man looked on worried. It was 5’o clock in the morning and so no one was there on the roads. Moreover the place was a mile away from the city and there were only a few personal properties, most of them kept unused.
“I am not Arjun.” Aryan said again, a little disturbed this time.” I am sorry for staring but you are very striking and so I could not control myself from looking at you. I need to leave now, so please if you would leave my hand.”
Radhika jerked away with the sudden pull of the hand and within a moment’s time the man disappeared around the corner. Tears were still flowing down her cheeks and she was standing there all alone confused with what just happened. She was happy as well as sad. Happy for she saw Arjun and sad because that man said that he was not her Arjun. But whatever it was, Radhika was sure to find out the underlying truth. She had grieved his death for seven months but now it was time to go and look for him.
