Debina Bonnerjee on how she dealt with post-natal depression; says, “If I can work passionately for hours while acting then why not do the same with motherhood”

TV actress Debina who is quite actively vlogging her daily life these days is also the mother of two little angels Lianna and Divisha. The actress is currently focusing on her daughters and her health. Amidst all this, the actress is also trying to get back in shape with her customized workouts as she is restricted to attempting a few exercises post the C-section.

In her recent vlog, Debina talked about her daughters and how they have been growing fast. She shared that she feels Divisha would be the first one to speak as she loves to sing and often follows what Debina is humming. The actress also talked about post-natal depression which is quite common in women.

She said, “A lot of people speak about post-natal depression where after having a baby the new moms get into a depressed mood. The overwhelming feeling is like when you see that the baby wakes up in the middle of the night, you get tired and feel it is so difficult. Yes, it is difficult, the child suddenly wakes up fresh in the middle of the night so what would you do? Will you sleep and ignore the kid? I remember Pinu was completely awake in the middle of the night and she started talking. I spoke to her for some time and put her to sleep again. The next morning I am even tired but this is a phase.”

She further added, “I believe there have been years, from the age of 17-18 I started working and I used to always think babies would happen later. Now that they are a part of my life then why should I keep feeling tired and depressed? While working, I used to work for long hours when we had continuous shoots. Being a lead, at times one barely gets time to sleep but I happily worked back then. So now that I am a mother, why should I stop doing that and keep thinking about getting tired? I am genuinely not tired, I am relentlessly being present with my babies.”

Talking about how she feels that she would miss her girls, Debina said, “When these little girls grow old, they will get busy in their lives and I will miss these moments. So now, when I have time to be with them, I don’t want to lose it because of work.”
