Ranvir's POV
So, what do I say? Let's start with the solemn and ugly fact: Jail food tastes like crap.
My head is spinning with a million thoughts, mostly about how the hell I get out of this mess. My eyes trace to the steel rods that blocked my way to freedom. I had already began to worry about the shares of my company in the market. But above all, I could only picture her.

Long, brown hair that glittered like a wave of chocolate in the air with smoothness and eyes steely yet somehow warm, like melted caramel. Attitude, like she owned the goddamn world.
I loved it. Every bit of her, every curve of her, every word uttered out of her lips, pink and subtle.
And a name too appropriate. Anchal. Complete and strong.

The best part? The way she didn't give a damn that I was the most powerful business tycoon in India.
I take my harmonica out of my pocket, gently playing it as I wonder about how I got into this mess. I hear shallow footsteps as I look ahead to spot my younger brother zooming across the police station floor, with a fidget spinner twirling in his hand.

Oh, how I wish he knew how exceptionally dumb he looked with that toy in his hand.
Kabir: Bade!!!!!! You know what, our lawyers are amazing! They said that you r gonna get released soon. Tu tension mat le, okay? The incompetent police officers found some hair strands of yours on that secretary's body but the medical report will show them that they r wrong! Humare lawyers bas ek ghante mein aate hi honge…
(They hear footsteps. Turn around to see the lawyer.)

Kabir(shouts in excitement): Dekha, bade! So lawyer, tell the police officers to remove bade from prison..
Lawyer(nervous): Sorry, Mr. Raichand, but medical report shows that Mr. Ranvir is guilty of rape.
Kabir is shocked as he looks at me, as I stand leaning against the metal bars expressionlessly. Kabir gets angry as he darts towards the lawyer and holds him by the collar.

My brother always has this tendency to use force. Why doesn't he ever use his brains.
Me: Kabir..leave him alone!
I shout at him like he is my psychotic pet dog. Well, now I feel pathetic.
Kabir: What will we do bade? I can't see u in jail and mom spending nights crying out because she misses u..We have to win this case.

My annoyance slightly melts at his heartfelt confrontation and I put my hand on his shoulder,
Me: U know that I haven't done anything wrong and more importantly I know I haven't done anything wrong. Threatening other people doesn't show your strength Kabir..u come off as an arrogant fool.( turning to face the lawyer) Mr. Agarwal, please continue to prepare my case and take as many tests you want. I know that I'm not guilty so I don't have to be afraid of anyone.

( A loud noise in the background of cameras clicking and reporters asking questions as Aanchal enters the police station with the head constable.)
I see Kabir's hand that tightens on the metal rod of the prison door with a frown appearing on his forehead. My eyes narrow with curiosity, as I eye her continuously.

Her frame slightly shifts due to the hostile atmosphere in the room as the constable asks her to record her statement as Meenu's lawyer. She smiles and finishes writing the report and prepares to walk away as Kabir's voice stops her.

Kabir: Oh, the spectacular lawyer of justice…Ms. Aanchal Srivastav! Won't you come and offer your opinions about how Bade deserves this punishment? Huh? Why don't you perhaps tell us how our money isn't going to buy us freedom or justice?
She stops midway and turns to face Kabir, the sun's benevolent rays sparkling through her hair, lighting it up like fire.

Aanchal: Actually,no Mr. Kabir, because arrogant and filthy rich people like you can never understand the true meaning behind things. You don't know the harsh realities of life because you don't care. In fact, it is absolutely useless to even try and explain it to you. As far as the matter of your brother getting imprisoned, it is not even half of what justice Meenu should receive. But something is atleast better than nothing.
My eyes light up, shining as I hear her words, so subtle that my tongue moves up to speak.
Me: Ms. Aanchal is right, Kabir. Justice should never depend on the influence of power and money but on sincerity and faith. However, if the apparent culprit is not actually the culprit, but just the victim of being an influential man, it is not fair is it?

Kabir looks at me, him being confused at my philosophical and ideal approach but Aanchal's eyes searched through mine, speechless for a few moments as if trying to unearth my truth while I smile, amused at her discomfort.
Aanchal: That secret will only be revealed by the law, Mr. Raichand. If you believe so much in your innocence, then hold onto your reins. However, don't expect me to change my viewpoint.

Her eyes, the perfect essence of gold as the sun's ray merge with it, seemed to challenge me.
Fine, Ms. Aanchal, we shall battle it on the court, to devour the excitement of proving you wrong…shall be my prize…and yours would be the happiness of seeing me lean on my knees helplessly.

I resume playing my harmonica, while simultaneously patting my brother's shoulder who was fuming at Aanchal.
Aanchal, we shall play it your way. And I'll win.

Because destiny loves being on my side and even the winds cannot face this tide of my victory.
My smile turns into a dirty grin as Kabir looks at me suspiciously.
Challenge accepted, Aanchal
