A girl says to Param your kurta looks so nice. Your nani gave it to you? Rana says Meher loves you so much she got Param the kurta and said his nani brought it. Kulwant says Param, I got you this Kurta. I knew you would look wonderful in it as a hero. Kiss your nani. Nirja says who are you? Kulwant says Sarpanj and Punjab Dal’s PR manager. This is my grandson Param. Nirja says he is my grandson. I got him this kurta. Kulwant says what is she saying? Is she drunk? Dolly says are you drunk? Kulwant says are you out of your mind? Scene 2
Jitto is walking out. Bitu holds her hand. He says where were you going? She says practicing to run away with you. Bitu says you will go with me with all the respect. Meher has given me proof against Kulwant. You see how I create a drama.
Meher takes out Simran’s photo. Param says who is she? Meher says your mom. He says you’re my mom. Meher says she is your mama as well. Simran mama. Param says she was never with me. Meher says to see the stars. They are away but they can see us and we can see them. You see the stars. She is one of them. She is always looking at you. She will bring a smile on your face. Your star mama is always with you. Sarab looks at them. Param hugs Meher. Meher says mama, I want to sleep. Meher says say goodnight to star mama. Param says goodnight star mama. He leaves.
Kulwant says how dare she tell me I am not Param’s nani. I am glad Sarab doesn’t have a photo of Simran. She is dead anyway. Yuvi says dadi I will put your photo on the wall too after you die. Amrita says quite. Yuvi says Rana put pickle on my plate. Amrita says talk politely.
Bitu comes in. Rana says come let’s eat. Kulwant says sit Bitu. He sits. Kulwant says are you angry. Talk to me. Look at me. Bitu looks at her and says what? Kulwant says now I see fear of being arrested in your eyes. Bitu says in heart now you see what I do.
Sarab says why are you making his life complicated? What would he do once you leave? Why did you tell him all that? Meher says I couldn’t make him hate me. But I can make him love Simran before I leave. I should have done this earlier. Nirja auntie gave me courage. Simran will always be Param’s mom. No one can take her place. It’s Param’s right to know about his mother.
