I recalled my friend Saloni works in the ministry of foreign affairs. Sarab called Saloni and said a lot of soldiers were considered martyred after Kargil but many are alive in Pakistan jail. When saloni told me Pakistani officials are going to call today I reached to her place to speak to them. Meher sits down crying. Meher says my daddy ji is alive? She cries. Scene 3
Meher recalls how her dad left when they were sleeping when war was declared in Kargil. He said may God give you all the happiness in the world. He left for it. Meher came running after him and said daddy ji why are you leaving? Please stop. He didn’t stop. Meher said I won’t talk to you.

Meher cries and says I won’t ever talk to you. Sarab hugs her. Meher says I never thought life would bring me closer to daddy ji again. He says please calm down and pray that he’s one of the soldiers crossing the border tomorrow. Meher says I kept his memories with me for all these years. She opens his trunk. Meher hugs Sarab. Meher prays. Meher says I didn’t know you were going to unite me with your dad and I doubted you. Sarab says we both made mistakes. But the bigger thing is that we forgive each other. We saved this relationship. Meher says how strong a tree’s roots are, you only know when there’s a storm. Sarab says let’s pray that daddy ji crosses the border tomorrow.
