Chhavi Mittal who recently had br*ast cancer surgery is on her way to recovery and is inspiring women with her cancer recovery story. In her latest post, Chhavi shared how she is dealing with the painful healing procedure.
Updating her fans about her current recovery stage, Chhavi wrote, “Yesterday was a not-so-good day. I had slight fever, throat ache, body ache and I basically realised yet again that more than “being” sick I hate “feeling” sick. So I got up, went to the gym, came back, finished writing a script, went to see one of my cancer surgeons.. who told me healing is happening just the way it should.. and I felt awesome about my day! I’m just getting a little tired of the pain in one of the stitches and wish that it went away soon.. the doc said, the more I improve my mobility, the faster the pain will go…. So here I am putting pepper on my physiotherapy…. Phew! Chhavi, this too shall pass”
Talking about how she is managing to make her kids understand her situation, she added, “I sat her down and told her that I am very unwell. She looked at me quizzically and wanted to know what it was. I told her it’s a problem and I am going to fix it. I added that if I am not here for a few days, then she should not worry as nani (maternal grandmother) would be coming down and staying with her. She knows about cancer as I had lost my Nani to esophageal cancer. She turned around and said, ‘Mummy, is it that?’ I said, ‘Yes’. And, she started crying.”
We wish Chhavi a speedy recovery and a healthy life ahead.
