“Why are you here Shefali” Karthik asked

She didn’t know how to answer him, if she told him the truth, he may never want to be a part of her life. And from when did you start thinking about what anyone else though Shefali, she scolded herself. She wasn’t ashamed of anything

“My mother is admitted here” she said

He waited for her to say more, but when she didn’t, he asked “Can I meet her?”

They both walked to her ward, but she was sleeping

“My mom got an anxiety attack; she saw my dad today after months. She wanted him to be with her, but as usual he just walked away” she said sadly

He took her hands in his and she looked at him “Don’t worry we will look after her”

“She is my responsibility not yours” she removed her hand from his

“Our relationship has progressed Shefali, I like you and I know you like me too”

“Like, love all these are empty words, see where it got my mother. She loved him so dearly, but my father never cared. Because of him she is in this condition. I will never do the same mistake. Bye Karthik” she said and walked away. Karthik heard the finality in her voice and he felt sad.

Ahaan was waiting for Isqhi. She had said she wanted to talk something important to him. Good that all the family members had gone to temple, they could get some privacy he thought. The doorbell rang and there stood Isqhi. For the first time she was nervous about seeing him and he wondered why.

“Did you see a ghost” he asked jokingly

“Yes, and that ghost is you” she said and ran from there

“wait.. wait.. “ he ran behind her and she ran into the house.

They continued their chasing game and finally landed on the sofa breathing heavily after all the running.

“You can’t even catch me” Ishqi said teasing Ahaan

“You were running like a rabbit, how could I “

“Awww.. “ she said and hugged him.

“Ahaan I need to tell you something” she said seriously

He moved his hand through her hair, and waited

“The other day when I ran it wasn’t because of your 1920’s proposal” she smiled “it was because I had got a call from hospital. Six months ago, when I had walked away from my marriage with Mayank, I had saved a lady from an accident. I thought it was an accident, but now I think it’s a murder. That lady is in hospital, she is stable now but that day her condition had worsened”

“You always do good deeds Ishqi” he puts his hand lovingly on her head.

“The point here is Ahaan, the lady knows you… and you know her. I didn’t know about the connection until that day”

Ahana was on full alert now, he straightened to listen to Isqhi carefully.

“That lady she is your .. your .. “

The doorbell rang again and Isqhi jerked suddenly as if caught doing something wrong.

She went to open the door and there stood Riya. Ishqi was shocked to see her, as she thought she had already left the country

“What are you doing here” Ishqi asked angrily, she hadn’t forgotten what Riya had done to her.

“Can I come in; I just need to talk to Ahaan” Riya said slowly

“ye Jungli Sherni, billi kab se bann gayi” mumbled Ishqi but still allowed her to enter

“Only you can save me now Isqhi” Riya started crying.

“Stop the drama and tell me” Isqhi said

“I am pregnant” Riya said and started crying more

“It’s good news, why are you crying for that”

“The baby is of Ahaan” Riya said looking straight at Isqhi

Isqhi laughed loudly “Is this some kind of joke”

“One night when we were about to get engaged, Ahaan was very disturbed. I went to his room to console him, and he thought it was you and we got intimate” she said

“So you consoled him with your body” Isqhi asked angrily

“How dare you!!” Riya was angry

“How dare you Riya. Don’t even think of raising your voice on Isqhi in our home” Ahaan was angry too

Riya ran to Ahaan and told him the same story of the baby

“Do you really think we will believe your drama” Ahaan asked her

“How can you say that Ahaan” Riya said.

“Because he is a 1920’s guys, his thoughts, principles are all very old. An more than anything his family respect is everything for him” Isqhi filled in for him and he smiled.

“But this child is ours Ahaan” Riya shouts

“Kya.. main par dadi banana wali hoon” dadi comes in happily and hugs Riya”I am so happy with the good news”

“Dadi, what are you saying” Ahaan objects

“What else will I say, lets get you two married soon.. welcome to the family Riya”Dadi takes her inside

Ishqaan look at each other.
