Manik’s P.O.V ~

Shit…

I cursed mentally as I saw the fans and the paps clicking pictures of me. The worst part was that… it wasn’t me, alone. There was Nandini with me as well. I looked at Nandinu who was already looking at me. She clutched her bag in her left hand tightly and gave me a confused look.

” It’s okay. Just hold my hand, and don’t answer any of their questions. Ignore them, okay? ” I said giving her an assuring look. She nodded.

” Is it okay if I drop you home? It’s just that I don’t you in trouble because of all this. ” I said.

” It’s okay. Let’s go. ” She said and smiled weakly. I returned the same smile and slipped my hand into hers.

The moment our hands touched, it sent shivers down my spine. Her hand was cold, and her fingers were locked with mine. I squeezed her hand a little, and gave her an assuring smile. She sighed as we walked outside, surrounded by the flashes.

Who’s this mystery girl? Virat, are you two dating? Is she your girlfriend? Who is she?

I could hear so many questions, which were really annoying. These people definitely don’t know the meaning of the world privacy.

Somehow, we made our way towards my car which was parked on the opposite side of the road. Nisha sat in, so did I.

She sighed. ” I’m sorry. I had no idea they’d be here… ” I said.

” It’s okay. ” She said giving a weak smile. I wasn’t convinced by that. I asked her out, and when everything was going good, these media people had to ruin it.

” No, I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to ruin our date and… ” I said and her head snapped up. She looked at me with wide eyes, and I realized what I’d just said. Date? Oh God Manik…

” Date? ” She asked raising her eyebrows.

” Uh… y-yeah… I-I mean… wasn’t it a… date? ” I asked running a hand in my hair.

I was too embarrassed to even look at her. I screwed up. Maybe she didn’t think it was a date…

” Was it a date? ” She asked again. Okay, you’ve embarrassed yourself enough, Manik. I thought. I didn’t know what to say to her now.

” Yeah… I guess… ” I said as I felt heat rising up to my face. Suddenly, she gasped and looked at me in pure shock.

” Are you… blushing? ” She asked. Blushing? No! Girls do that. I thought, but I knew I was blushing.

” N-no! Ofcourse not! Girls do that… You do that. ” I said quickly looking away.

” Oh stop it… And by the way, guys who blush are kinda cute… ” She said. Cute? Really?

” So you’re saying I’m cute? ” I asked with a smirk. She looked down at her fingers.

” I didn’t say that… ” She said trying her best not to smile. But she gave up too soon, and the beautiful smile was back on her lips.

” But you meant that… ” I said in the same tone.

” I didn’t mean anything! Now can we please leave? ” She asked.

” Okay… ” I shrugged and drove off as she gave me the directions to her house.

Surely this girl was driving me crazy. At first, she was so shy and quiet. But I was glad that as time passed, she became more comfortable with me. Ofcourse, I wanted to meet her again and I hoped she felt the same.

No girl ever had such an effect on me.

I liked her… a lot…
