Bigg Boss16: Sumbul Touqeer Khan’s father talks about her relationship with Shalin Bhanot; says she is not obsessed with Shalin
Imlie fame Sumbul Touqeer Khan who is currently seen in the Bigg Boss 16 house is making headlines not for her game in the show but due to her bond with co-contestant Shalin Bhanot. In the recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode, host Salman Khan told her upfront that she is obsessed with Shalin. For the unversed, the actress didn’t leave Shalin’s side after his fight with MC Stan. She even refused to allow Tina Datta to talk to him and calm him down. Listening to what Salman had to say about the incident, Sumbul broke down into tears and swore that she is not in love with Shalin as he is just a friend to her and she cares for him.
Her father Touqeer Khan talked about it during a recent interview with BT and shared, “She isn’t obsessed with Shalin but is caring towards him. During the fight, even Soundarya was holding Stan back. No one noticed it, but Sumbul came into the limelight. Sab ek doosre ko kiss kar rahe hain, hug kar rahe hain, sab friends hain par agar Sumbul kare toh usko bola jaata hai. This has been happening since day one. Everyone knows that the more they target her, the more hype they will get. She has become a soft target.”
He added, “Because of a couple of similarities between Shalin and Sumbul, including sharing a birthday, she found a father figure in him from day one. Talking about panicking during Shalin and MC Stan’s fight on the show, I remember an incident around five years ago when I got into an altercation with someone, she went through something similar. It was like a déjà vu moment with just Shalin instead of me.”
Toqueer is proud of his daughter’s conduct in the Bigg Boss 16 house and the way she handled everything on the weekend episode. He said, “She is extremely patient and held her ground in yesterday’s episode. Any other contestant would have buckled under pressure. I am proud of her.”
Talking about Shalin, Touqeer said, “I feel that Tina and Shalin have done their homework on her and her following on social media and using it for their benefit. They will eventually realize that Sumbul stood by them throughout while they nominated her and turned against her.”
