Gautam Singh Vig, who is currently seen in Bigg Boss 16, has many supporters outside rooting for him. One of his supporters is his ex-wife, Richa Gera. The two got divorced in December 2020.

Richa talked about her equation with Gautam during an interview with BT and said, “We are extremely cordial and share a good friendship. Gautam and I have known each other since childhood. However, great friendships don’t necessarily culminate into successful marriages. When you are busy, it gets tricky to make time for each other and expectations always rise as partners, which can be difficult to match. We understood it and decided to end our marriage because we didn’t want our bond to get affected or lose respect for each other.”

Richa, who is working with a foreign bank as an AVP, in Human Resources, vouches for Gautam to be real on the reality show. She said, “I follow Bigg Boss every year and would always tell Gautam that I wanted him to participate in the show. When he bagged it, he called me and said that he was going to fulfill my dream. He is doing very well. I am sure he will reach the finale and I look forward to seeing him lift the trophy.”

Gautam has been making headlines for his proximity with co-contestant, Soundarya Sharma. While many have been accusing Gautam of faking his relationship for Soundarya for the camera, Richa has a different take on it. She said, “I am happy to see Gautam moving on. I am not awkward on that front. Whether inside the house or outside, it’s entirely Gautam’s decision. Soundarya will have her own strategies as well as preferences. They are the best-looking couple inside the house. However, I feel that they are rushing into it. Jitna main Gautam ko jaanti hoon, he takes time to know a person and fall in love. I feel that it is attraction from both sides and not love. Gautam is better as a friend than as a boyfriend.”

She added, “Soundarya is trying her best to support him, but they have to play independently, too. They are now bound by the relationship. He can do really well if he focuses on the game and he is spoiling it by focusing more on love. Pyaar baahar aakar kar lo.”

Talking about how Gautam is targeted in the house for his actions she said, “The real him is how he was in the first week, a fun-loving guy. He became conscious after being questioned about his actions and conduct week after week. Bigg Boss has caught on to it and is playing a lot more mind games. Unhone zyada kheech diya Gautam ko aur itna nahi karna chahiye. You can’t pull him up for everything, be it for love or friendship. Itne allegations lagne ke baad koi bhi conscious hoga, as it’s on national television. He should get the freedom to play his game.”
