Bigg Boss 15 fame Vishal Kotian reveals the secret behind his 8-pack-abs

Bigg Boss 15 fame Vishal Kotian never misses a workout session in spite of having a highly packed schedule. The actor keeps sharing drool-worthy pictures on his social media flaunting his perfect body.

Vishal has not only maintained his physique over the years but also gained muscles. During a recent interview with ETimes TV, Vishal spilled the beans about his workout routine and the diet that he follows to achieve that well-toned body.

He said, “Fitness to me is my way of life. It is a habit that I’ve cultivated from a very young age. I am a black belt in Goju-Ryu-Karate. I started training for karate when I was only 9 years old. I started going to the gym when I was only 16 and it has become a daily routine for me. Just like having breakfast, lunch, dinner, or brushing my teeth, or taking a shower, working out is also a part of my daily routine. In a day we have 24 hours and we can’t take out an hour for ourselves then we can’t expect to even have a good body. You have to dedicate just one hour of your day daily to your body. Our body is God’s gift to us so better we take care of it.”

Vishal added, “My fitness regime is very simple. I take out time to go to the gym regularly. I don’t miss out on going to the gym at all. I enjoy going to the gym every day, if I have more time in hand I spend more time in the gym. For me, going to the gym is playful, unwinding, and relaxing. My workout regime is push and pull. It is very important and people who work out will know. Either I push weight or pull weight. For eg if it is a push day, I do chest and triceps, on a pull day, I would pull weight like back and biceps and the third day would be leg and shoulders. I divide two body parts per day and I divide according to push and pull techniques. It avoids a lot of injuries because your muscle is only pushing and pulling in your one direction. There’s no wear and tear.”

Vishal also confessed that it is Salman Khan, who inspired him to take up body-building seriously. “For me the best body in Bollywood would be someone who inspired me to take up bodybuilding and it is Salman Khan bhai. I saw him in Bandhan, Veergati and I mentioned this on the Bigg Boss stage as well. When I saw him in both films, I realized I need to have a physique like him and I started to work out. He has always been my role model. Apart from him Arnold Schwarzenegger a lot and I have also read his book. He’s been my guru and I have read the entire book and followed it. If I had to choose someone from the current generation, Hrithik Roshan is someone who has a dream physique and I don’t know how he builds up that physique every time for a film. I also love Tiger Shroff for his dedication and flexibility. To have that kind of muscles and then be so flexible I have only seen Van Damme doing it. In India, if someone has a combination of physique, muscles, and flexibility then it has to be Tiger.”

When asked about his diet, he shared, “As far as my diet goes I actually don’t believe in dieting and exercising. I believe in eating and training. I have counted my calories and the amount of calories my body requires to function in a day. I keep my body in a calorie deficit. So whatever I eat doesn’t matter, I don’t devoid my body of anything that I love. I eat each and everything that I like. I don’t restrict myself because I believe it’s only one life that you get. I also believe you are what you eat. So you eat home cooked food, binge on food once in a while. I always believe in a calorie deficit like if I eat 4 rasgullas in a day, I will skip a meal to be in a calorie deficit. I eat healthy food, I eat a lot of egg whites, chicken and fish. I do take supplements. To keep my body this muscular I need to have protein. I am 77 kgs so I need to have 150 grams of protein every day and that is not possible only by diet. That’s why I take protein supplements. I also do intermittent fasting. I don’t eat after 7 or maximum 8pm. I don’t start my day in terms of food until around 11 am. I keep a 16 hour gap. It is 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours of eating, every day. This is what I systematically follow. Eat everything and treat your body like a temple.”
