In court, lawyers fiercely debate Lakshmi’s alleged crime and the possibility of her innocence. Lakshmi’s defense argues that someone else could have cut the chandelier’s rope, while the prosecution presses Lakshmi to confess, referencing her previous statement to the police. Asked to swear on Gita, Lakshmi firmly denies any involvement in Neelam’s murder.
The prosecution questions why she’s now retracting her confession, but her lawyer insists she is telling the truth and points out the lack of evidence against her. Shalu is relieved by Lakshmi’s denial, and the defense urges the court to seek the real culprit, maintaining Lakshmi’s innocence. Rishi, however, is left confused by Lakshmi’s changing statements. The judge adjourns the hearing for half an hour.
Meanwhile, Anushka meets Malishka for updates. Malishka is anxious that Lakshmi might win, but Kiran assures her they’ll frame Lakshmi. Malishka reveals a plan to have Rishi testify against Lakshmi, believing this will break her spirit. When questioned, she explains she’ll convince Rishi to stand against his former love.
Rishi visits Lakshmi in custody. Though initially reluctant, he stops to speak with her for old times’ sake. He expresses his anger and disappointment but admits he can never truly hate her, confessing he still loves her. Lakshmi is overjoyed to know Rishi still trusts her and vows to fight for justice if he stands by her. She wants to protect Paro, who made a mistake that led to Neelam’s death, hoping for forgiveness for her child.
Elsewhere, Karishma urges the lawyer to ensure Lakshmi is punished, but the lawyer suspects Lakshmi might be shielding the real culprit. He presses Karishma for the full truth, but she claims ignorance, only wanting Lakshmi out of their lives. Aanchal voices her hatred for Lakshmi, which shocks Shalu, who overhears. Shalu confronts them, questioning their animosity towards someone who has shown them so much love. She pleads with Ayush and the others to support Lakshmi, insisting Lakshmi is protecting someone and urging them to find Neelam’s real killer.
Ayush reassures Shalu, but Karishma warns that Shalu’s relationship with Ayush will suffer. Shalu declares her loyalty to her sister above all else and leaves, while Aanchal tries to turn Ayush against Shalu, though he understands the depth of Shalu and Lakshmi’s bond.
