Barrister Babu New Era Episode-14: Anidita meets Gandhiji

The episode starts with the villagers telling, “If the girls of Das family don’t have any relation with Roy Choudharys, then they can’t live in this Haveli.  They must leave at once.”

A man says, “One day, two days, three days is okay.  But how can these girls live for months??”

Second man :  “Yesss, they can live in Roy Choudhary Haveli only as guests; and…..”

Trilochan interrupts by saying, “Please please please please calm down everyone.  You won’t get anything by screaming like this.  I’ll think about this matter.”

Third man :  “Jamindaar babu, if you had to think; then you would’ve thought a long time before.  But you didn’t…  Soo, we want you to take action immediately.  Send these girls to Krishnanagar.”

All villagers chorus, “Yes, yes, send them away.  Send them to Krishnanagar.”

Somnath is not able to bear all this.  He angrily shouts, “Enoughhhhh…  Enough of all this stupidity……  I don’t know what you all get by interfering in the personal matters of others.  And you want to know Tapur-Tupur’s relation with our family na?  So listen.  The girls of Das family have the relation of humanity with Roy Choudharys.  Yes, we all are bonded with the relation of hearts,  and the relation of hearts is above all the relationships of this universe.”

Somnath gives a fake laugh  and says, “But why I’m wasting my time in telling all this to you guys???  People like you will never understand this.”

Then, Somnath joins his hands in front of the villagers and says, “Kindly leave from here.  I’m requesting you very politely, please please please don’t try to interfere in our personal matters.”

The villagers leave while saying, “We’re leaving now.  But, we’ll surely come back if these girls don’t go to Krishnanagar.”

After the villagers leave, Somnath sighs and says to Trilochan, “Kaka, just ignore these people.  Don’t pay attention to their words.”

But, to Somnath’s surprise;  Trilochan angrily replies, “They were saying the truth only.  Tapur and Tupur must go to Krishnanagar as soon as possible.”

Somnath is about to say something when Trilochan walks away from there.

All of a sudden, Somnath feels someone’s hand on his shoulder.  Somnath turns back to see Anirudh is patting on his back.  Anirudh smiles and says, “Som, you really did a great work today!  I’m proud of you my brother!!”

Somnath :  “Thank you so much Dada.  I only performed my duty.”

It’s night :-

In Anirudh and Bondita’s room –

Bondita is sitting near the window of the room.  She’s enjoying the cold breeze of night  while her smooth and shiny hairs are waving in the air.

Suddenly, someone puts a very beautiful red rose in Bondita’s hairs.  Bondita gets surprised.  Bondita turns back to see who has done this, but there is no one behind her.  Bondita looks here and there,  still she sees no one.  Bondita ignores and she again starts looking at the bright moon.  This time, someone tucks Bondita’s waving hair behind her ears.  Bondita turns back, but nobody is near her.  Bondita puffs her cheeks  and says, “You’re really reallllyyyyy soooo naughty.  Dusht babu.” Anirudh comes there and asks, “Whaa… What happened Bondita????”

Bondita angrily says, “Why do you trouble me like this, haannnn??”

Anirudh :  “Arrey Bondita, at least please tell me what happened???”

Bondita :  “Don’t try to act like innocent.  I know you only did this.”

Anirudh :  “Ok okk Barrister Babu Bondita Roy Choudhary.  It was me only.  But, you’re getting angry on me like I am a thief….”

Bondita :  “Yes, you’re a thief; a biggggg thief…..”

Anirudh frowns his face in a cute way and says, “Whatttt??  You called me a thief????  Bondita, what did I steal???”

Bondita :  “My heart,  yessss you stole my heart.  You are a verryyyyy naughty thief.”   Saying this, Bondita puffs her face like a Roshogulla and sits under a nearby table.

Anirudh laughs and blushes at this childish act of Bondita.  Anirudh also sits under the table beside Bondita and he says, “Barrister Babu Bondita, what punishment do you want to give to this thief for committing such a huge crime????  Please tell.  Har ek sazaa manjoor hai(Any punishment is accepted).”

Bondita :  “Okay, then as a punishment you’ll have to fulfil a wish of mine.”

Anirudh :  “Farmaiye Huzoor” (Please say Ma’am).

Bondita thinks for a while; then she says, “Pati babu, right now I don’t have any wish.  But no problem,  your punishment remained udhaar(debt) on me.  Soo, whenever I’ll ask you to fulfil my one wish; then you’ll have to fulfil it without saying any single word.  Got it?”

Anirudh :  “Ohhhoooo Bondita..  Why only one wish???  I’m ready to fulfil your infinite wishes.”

Bondita pinches her throat with the first two fingers of her right hand and asks, “Shotttttttiiiiiiii??????????”

Anirudh also pinches his throat in the same way and says, “Yeah shottttttiiiiiiii..”

Bondita giggles and says, “Let’s see if you will be able to fulfil my single wish or not.  Then only I can ask for infinite wishes na?”

Anirudh :  “Yeah Bondita.”

Anirudh and Bondita laugh.

After a few seconds;  Bondita curiously asks, “Btw Pati babu, is there anything special today?”

Anirudh confusingly asks, “But why Bondita??”

Bondita :  “Because, you tucked a beautiful rose in my hair na, that’s why.”

Anirudh :  “Bondita, pyaar karne ka bhi koi khaas din hota hai kya?”  (Bondita, is there even a special day to love?)

Bondita shies.

RTM plays.  (Main tera dil tu pyaar mera hai…)

Bondita says in Vaijyanti’s tone, “Aiyyoappa, aap bhi na!  Kuch bhi bolti rehti hai.”  (Aiyyoappa, you also na!  You keep saying anything.)

Anirudh :  “Bolti nahi Bolta.”

Bondita :  “Haan, woh wahi.  Waise, aapki dhul bahut khubsurat hai.  Mere ko bahut achha lagi.”  (Yeah, that only.  Btw, your dust is very beautiful.  I loved it so much!)

Anirudh :  “Dhul?  What is dhul??”

Bondita :  “Aiyyo, dhul nahi samajhti???  Woh jo baalon mein lagati hai, aapne mere baalon mein lagayi.”  (Aiyyo, don’t you understand dhul???  That thing which is tucked in hairs, which you tucked in my hairs.)

Anirudh :  “Phul, phul kehte hain use.”  (Phul, it’s called phul.)

Bondita :  “Wahi, wahi.”  (Yes, that only)

Then, Bondita keeps her right hand on her right cheek and says, “Aiyyoappa, aap kitne achhe se samajhti mujhko!” (Aiyyoappa, how well you understand me!)

Anirudh says, “Samaj……”  Anirudh is about to complete his sentence, but he stops.  Then, Anirudh closes his eyes and shows his hand like .  Both Anirudh and Bondita laugh.

After a while; Anirudh says, “Bondita, how many times I have told you not to speak like Vaijyanti in front of our kids.  Otherwise, they will also become Madras-Express just like you.  But you never listen.”

Bondita opens her mouth in shock like and says, “What did you call me?  Madras-Express???!!!!  You’re very verryyy Dusht, you are Rakshas babu. When will you stop torturing me, haan??”

Anirudh :  “I’ll stop torturing you when you’ll stop torturing me.”

Bondita widens her eyes in anger and,  says, “I’ll never stop torturing you.”

Anirudh smirks and says, “Then I’ll also never stop torturing you.”

Bondita puffs her cheeks and turns her face towards the left.  Anirudh also puffs his cheeks and turns his face towards the right.

After a few seconds, both look at each other.  Then again, Anirudh and Bondita turn their faces opposite to each other.  Again, they look at each other.  But this time, Anirudh and Bondita burst into laughter by looking at each other.

Bondita :  “Pati babu, you look sooo cute when you make your face like Roshogulla.”

Anirudh :  “But not cuter than you Bondita.”

Bondita blushes.

Anirudh :  “I love you soooooooo muchhh Bondita!”

Bondita :  “I too love you sooo sooooo sooooooooo muchhhh Pati babu!”

Meri duniya hai tujhme kahin plays….

Meanwhile at Chakraborty Haveli :-

Mishti is sitting in her room thinking about something.  All of a sudden, Mithun enters in the room and gives Mishti a very hard slap on her face.  Mishti gets teary eyes.  Mishti asks to Mithun, “Why did you slap me Baba?  What have I done???”

But, instead of answering the question asked by Mishti;  Mithun starts beating Mishti ruthlessly.  Mithun slaps Mishti many times.  But after some time, when Mithun tries to raise his hand on Mishti; Mishti holds his hand.  Mishti boldly says, “Baba, Mishti can never tolerate injustice with anyone; so how can she tolerate injustice with her??  I won’t bear your tortures anymore.  I hope you understood.”

Mishti starts going towards the exit door of the room, but Mithun pushes her from behind.  Mishti falls on the ground with a thud.  She gets hurt.

Mithun laughs like a devil and says, “You can act smart in front of everyone, but not in front of Mithun Chakraborty.”

Then, Mithun fumes with angerand says, “Uuhhhhhh… How dare you step out of Chakraborty Haveli in spite of my forbidding??????  Why whyyyy whhyyyyyyy did you do thissssssss????”

Mishti :  “Baba, thattt…..”

Mishti is about to say something when Mithun shouts, “Shut up you shameless girl.  I’m not your Baba.  Don’t call me Baba from now on.”

But before Mishti could reply;  Mithun says, “And yes, I have fixed your marriage in a very rich family.  You’re going in that house in a few days.  Also, all my problems and troubles are going alongwith you.”

To Mithun’s and Mishti’s surprise, someone says, “No Mithun Kaka, you can’t fix Mishti’s wedding without her will.  And, I very well know that you’ve fixed Mishti’s marriage with a 75 years old rogue, scoundrel and womaniser.  I won’t let you do this.  How can you think about doing such a cheap act???  I’m feeling ashamed to call you my Kaka.”  Mithun and Mishti turn back to see Saudamini standing there.

Saudamini continues, “Yes, I’m feeling very verryyy ashamed to call you my Kaka.  You don’t deserve to be called a human, you’re a devil.  Huhhhh….”

Mithun grits his teeth in anger. But the very next moment, he gives a fake smile and says, “Listen Saudamini beta, I was just…”   Saudamini interrupts him saying, “I don’t want to listen anything.  From now on, Mishti will live with me in my room.  That’s my final decision.  You won’t say anything, otherwise…..  You know what will happen otherwise.”

Saudamini turns to Mishti and says, “Mishti, come with me.”

Mishti goes with Saudamini leaving a dejected and frustrated Mithun.

In Anirudh and Bondita’s room –

Bondita says, “Pati babu, I was saying that tomorrow we’ll admit Arunima in school. What do you say?”

Anirudh happily says, “Of course Bondita, that’s really great!!   Now, our Arunima will also go to school with Shashwati and other kids.”

It’s morning :-

Binoy is getting ready.  He is wearing his tie.  Suddenly, he sees Sampoorna.  Binoy acts that he is not able to wear the tie and he says, “Arreyyy Sampoorna, what type of tie is this?  Haannn??  I’m not able to wear it.”   Sampoorna understands Binoy’s intentions from his face.  Sampoorna also acts and says, “Ohhhh…. I’m very sorry..  Let me give you another tie.”

Sampoorna starts going, but Binoy stops her saying, “Sampoorna, I meant that as you have bought this tie for me; so you must be knowing how to wear it.  Can you please please please help me in wearing it???”

Sampoorna says, “Ok, I’ll help you.”

Sampoorna is making Binoy wear the beautiful tie, while Binoy is staring at Sampoorna’s most beautiful face.  Binoy brings Sampoorna closer.

Sampoorna says, “What are you doing at this age??  If someone sees us then???”

Binoy :  “Sampoorna, is there even an age to love?  And if anyone will see us then what????  Are we doing anything wrong?? My loveliesttttt Sampoorna, you’re really sooo soooooo beautiful!!!  I can’t take off my eyes from you👁.”

Sampoorna blushes.

Then; Sampoorna gets away from Binoy and says, “Done.”

Binoy :  “What done??”

Sampoorna :  “Your tie, what else???”

Binoy :  “Ohh, you did it very soon.”

Sampoorna :  “Now go, or you’ll get late for your work.”

Binoy :  “Yes, yes, going.”

Binoy leaves.  Sampoorna smiles.

Anirudh and Bondita are taking Arunima to school for doing her admission.  They reach the school.  It’s the same school of Tulsipur in which Anirudh, Bondita, Somnath and Batuk had studied.  The immense happiness and joy of going to school for the very first time is reflecting from little Arunima’s face.

While climbing the staircases, Arunima is looking at all the equipments of the school with a curious face.  Then, Arunima looks at the students wearing school uniform.  Arunima asks, “Dada, Didi; will I also get to wear such nice clothes???” Bondita says, “Of course beta, you’ll also wear such uniform.”  Arunima gets ecstatic!!

By seeing the innocence and curiosity of Arunima, Bondita recalls the day when she had gone to school for the first time.  She was also looking at everyone and everything just like Arunima.  Bondita smiles recalling those sweet moments.

After some time;  Anirudh, Bondita and Arunima go in the principal’s cabin.

Inside Principal’s Cabin :-

The Principal Sir gets overwhelmed to see his gold medallist barrister students!!

Principal Sir :  “Ohhhhhhhh….!!!  My gold medallist barrister students are here!!  Very Good Morning! I’m sooooo happy to see you both!!!!  How’re you both?  And what brings you here??  Kindly tell me, how can I help you????”

Anirudh and Bondita together say, “Very Good Morning Sir!!!!  We’re also infinitelyy happy to see you!!”

Anirudh :  “Sir, we can never forget your favours on us.  You’ve done sooo much for Me and Bondita.  It was you who agreed to admit a girl student in your school.  I’m really reallllyyyyy very verryyy verrrrryyyyyy grateful to you Sir.”

Bondita :  “Yes Sir.  We were able to become good barristers only because of you.  You’re reaallllyyyyy the greatestttt, shotttttttiiiiiiii…”

Principal Sir makes a sad face and says, “Ohhhhoooooo….  You guys will never change.  I asked you how’re you both & what brings you here?  And, you guys started showering praises upon me..”

Anirudh :  “Arrey Sir, we both are perfectly fine.  How’re you??”

Principal Sir :  “I’m also fine.  Btw, Anirudh looks the same;  but Bondita has grown up a lotttt…  She was such a small kid when she used to study here.”

Anirudh :  “Yeah Sir; and now, she’s a mother of twins.”

After hearing this, Bondita gives a very cold look to Anirudh.  Anirudh bites his tongue in realisation of his mistake.

Principal Sir laughs and says, “Wowwwwww!!  That’s great!!! Congratulations Mr. Anirudh Roy Choudhary and Mrs. Bondita Roy Choudhary!!!!!”

Anirudh and Bondita thank Principal Sir.

Principal Sir :  “To be honest, it’s only because of you both that so many girls are studying in our school now.  I’m very lucky to get students like you!”

Anirudh and Bondita :  “We are also verrryyyyy blessed to get such a teacher and path-guider like you!  You’ve always motivated us and supported us in all our difficult times.  You’re like a God for us!!”

Principal Sir :  “See, you guys again started showering your sweet praises upon me..  Achha, now kindly tell me how can I help you???”

Bondita :  “Sir, we want to admit a girl student in your school.”

Principal Sir :  “It’s a pleasure for me!”

Principal Sir takes an admission form and starts filling it.

Principal Sir :  “What’s the name of the student?”

Bondita :  “Arunima Roy Choudhary.”

Anirudh proudly smiles at Bondita when she adds Roy Choudhary in front of Arunima’s name.

Principal Sir completes all the formalities and says, “Arunima’s admission is done.  She can go to her classroom now.”

Principal Sir asks the peon to show Arunima her classroom.  Arunima happily goes with the peon.

Anirudh and Bondita say to Principal Sir, “Thank you so much sir.”

Principal Sir :  “You’re welcome.”

Anirudh and Bondita start leaving from the school.

They reach the school’s auditorium.  Suddenly, they see someone coming to the stage.  They both get surprised to see the person!!!

In the mean time;  at some place, Saudamini is going somewhere.  Saudamini’s musical BGM plays…

All of a sudden, Saudamini sees someone surrounded by 7 dogs  from all sides.  The person is very scared and sweating profusely.  The person is trying to shoo away the dogs, but the dogs are barking loudly at him/her. The person is standing in the middle of 7 dogs by holding his/her breath.  Saudamini laughs seeing the condition of that person.

The person says, “I really reallllyyyyy hate dogs.  Don’t know how and why they came here?   Ohhhh goddddd..  Please please please please please save me from these dogs.”

Saudamini hasn’t seen the face of that person yet, because his/her back is towards Saudamini.  Saudamini goes near the scene and she shoos away the dogs.  The person says, “Ahhhhh… Finally I got saved.  Thank you thank you sooooo much for saving me today.”

Saudamini :  “Oh, no need of thanks. It was my duty.”

Saudamini thinks, “I don’t know why,  but this voice seems to be familiar.”

The person curiously asks, “Btw, don’t you get scared of dogs?  My soul just flies away from my body whenever I see any dog.”

Saying this, the person turns his/her face towards Saudamini.  Saudamini gets shocked and bewildered after seeing that person!!!!  Saudamini’s face turns pale.  She stammers, “Y…. Yy….. Youu…… Youuuuuuuuu????!!!!!”

On the other side, Anirudh and Bondita are verrryyyy surprised to see someone approaching the stage!!!!!!

Anirudh and Bondita together say, “Gandhijiiiii…!!!!!!!!”

The greatesttt Gandhiji walks towards the stage while Raghupati Raaghav Raja Ram plays…

The staff members of the school welcome Gandhiji. Anirudh and Bondita get tears of happiness.

There’s no one in the entire auditorium except the staff members and Anidita.  Soo, Gandhiji easily points out Anirudh and Bondita.  He calls them on the stage.  Anirudh and Bondita go towards Gandhiji. Anirudh and Bondita touch Gandhiji’s feet, Gandhiji blesses them.

Anirudh says in an emotional voice, “Gandhiji, I.. I can’t express my happiness today!!  It was my dream to meet you once in my lifetime.  I’m soooo soooooo sooooooooo happpyyyyy!!!!!”

Bondita says with tears rolling down her face,  “Gandhiji, do you remember the little girl whom you had called on the stage in a program of this school??  You had asked her to give a speech in front of everyone, but she hadn’t given the speech because she was very verryyy nervous.  Then you explained her the importance of girl’s education.  After that, she understood that she should also get educated.  And then, she studied hard with the help of her Pati babu.  And you know what?  That girl is a gold medallist barrister today!!!   Allll this happened because of you only.  If you hadn’t showed her the correct path, then she would never have got educated.  The girl is very short of words to thank you and your greatness!!”

Gandhiji smiles  seeing Anirudh and Bondita getting sooo emotional.

Gandhiji says to Bondita, “And that little girl is none other than you.”

Anirudh and Bondita get mind-blown at this straightforward and correct guess of Gandhiji

Anirudh and Bondita together ask, “How did you guess Gandhiji???”

Gandhiji smilingly says, “I didn’t guess.  I know that.”

Anirudh and Bondita :  “Butttt… Ho….. Howwww Gandhiji????!!!”

Gandhiji replies, “Beta, I came to know that by reading your face.”

Bondita :  “Oh ok ok Gandhiji.  But Gandhiji, I’m really very verrrrryyyyyyy thankful and grateful to you with all my heart for all that you’ve done.  Not only for one person, not even for two-three people, not even 4-5 hundred people;  you’ve done a lottttttt for all the 39 crore people of our entire country!!!!!  You’re really reallllyyyyy the greattttt, shotttttiiiiii…”

Gandhiji :  “Beta, I’m just contributing a little bit in this battle of India’s freedom against the British.  Nothing much.  The actual great work is being done by you both.  Despite of living in a simple village, you both are trying to change the mindset of this society.  You’re breaking the societal norms and bad customs.  You’re bringing changes in Indian society.  I’m really very verryyy proud of you both!  You both are the greatestttt….”

Anirudh :  “Gandhiji, we always always follow your principles only.  And we’ve been able to bring some changes in our society only by walking on the path of your principles.  So, the actual credit goes to you.”

Bondita :  “Btw Gandhiji, I’ve read about your hunger strike of 21 days for objecting to your detention by the British without any charges.  You did an angelic work for our country!”

Gandhiji :  “Yes Beta, I had performed it. But, nothing changed. The British sarkaar(government) ignored us.  Everything is still the same.”

Anirudh :  “No problem at all Gandhiji.  You tried, it’s more than enough!  I know that one day the hardwork, efforts and sacrifices of all our great freedom fighters like you will surely surely bear fruit.  One day, our Hindustan will become Aazad Hindustan (Independent India)..”

Gandhiji looks above at the open sky and says, “Yes, I hope that the day comes very soon.”

Bondita is walking on the road. She is alone. Someone kidnaps her from behind by closing her eyes with a cloth. Bondita screams, “Aaaahhhhh…”
