Scene 1:
Location: Jaitsar hospital
Anandi and shiv are trying to pacify ganga that they would do everything within their reach to save her son and her from ratan. Meanwhile the wardboy notices that the medicine has started dripping through her iv and thought that he had finally finished the task that ratan singh had given her. When dadisa tells her that everything would be alright soon, Ganga goes on to recall the entire story of how she had been forced to be a balika vadhu when she was meant to play with girls her age and go to school to study. She remembers how her mamiji had almost forced her into marrying off at a young age, so that she gets rid of ganga, who she considered as a liability. She goes on to recount how her cousin had bullied on her. And how to her horror,

she had seen that her prospective groom had been an elderly man. She goes on to say that noone had listened to her then. Her story traumatises everyone around her and they have tears and rage in their eyes. she recalls her marriage at that tender age to Ratan and how he had forced himself on her s*xually on their wedding night and on many consecutive nights. Anandi and her family are horrified to hear that. She says that she yet kept liivng in suffocation for she considered it her family and her responsibility and started seeing dreams of a happy married life with Ratan. Anandi asks about her in-laws’ behaviour towards her. Ganga says that good in laws’ house are only met in stories and in real life, only sadness. She says they had two issues for her marriage to Ratan…one was that they wanted a son, and the other that they had gotten a free maid for their household work.

Ganga goes on to recount how her mother in law used to get work done from her, cursing her all the while, while anandi remembers how dadisa used to do the same to her when she was a child. She says that she was a child, yet she used to do the whole household work. She remembered how she had been tortured by her mother in law, when she had just wanted to play for some time, and tried to rebuke her when she had tried to tell her that her mami had told her taht she wouldnt have to do any work or do labour due to the maid and servants already in the house. Her husband used to force himself on her whenever he wanted. Dadisa is reminded of the time when she had been that atrocious on anandi and faces her while anandi too looks at her. The screen freezes on anandi’s face.

Underlying message: On one hand, the society has tried to improve the condition of women in the society and help them raise their voice, yet on the other, there are several Child Brides in our villages who face domestic violence in their everyday life.

Precap: While crying incoherently, she loses consciousness and her pulse starts dropping. As her monitor starts to give a flat line, and lal singh is hopeless when he sees that she has dilated pupils or , jagiya asks lal singh as to who administered this medicine. The wardboy tells Ratan Singh that he has finished the work that he was supposed to, and that ganga is dead.
