Babita Phogat on being a part of Lock Upp, “Staying away from my child and husband is the only thing making me worried”

Wrestler Babita Phogat has entered the reality show Lock Upp hosted by Kangana Ranaut. Before entering the show, Babita talked about it in an interview with ETimes TV. Babita shared that the country knows her as the Commonwealth Gold Medalist wrestler however, now she wants the country to know the real her.

She shared, “I said yes to the show because I want people to know the real me. Till now, people have known me as a player and whatever they have got to know about me has been from the film, Dangal. But who is Babita Phogat in real life? They don’t know about it. I want them to know the real me. Another thing that I am most excited about is Kangana Ranaut hosting the show. That is very interesting for me.”

Talking about her family’s reaction to her participation in Lock Upp, Babita said, “I have never been in a situation where I had to ask my family for anything. They always trust my decisions and always support my decisions. Yes, I definitely discussed the offer when it came my way, they all were very happy and told me that if I am happy I should go for it.”

Babita also praised Kangana for being fearless in life. She said, “I like Kangana Ranaut a lot and the way she speaks her mind without any fear. She has always spoken about women’s empowerment and in the nation’s interest, and I like that quality about it. I like her personality and also our views are quite similar.”

When asked what aspect of doing the reality show will be most difficult for her, she said, “The one thing that is making me worried and nervous and is very challenging is staying away from my child and husband. It is very difficult to stay away from them. Ever since I’ve given birth to my child, I’ve not stayed away from him, not even for a day. I only have one thing in my mind is that when I return to them, I would return with the trophy in my hand. I want to make this show a beautiful memory of my life.” she concluded.
