Avni: u really want to know about me?
Neil: yeh I mean we r friends … he said shrugging his shoulders
Avni: Neil stop repeating “we r friends” in everything u say …or r u trying to assure yourself that we both became friends so that we don’t argue she said joking
Neil: well what can I do madam I have become friends with YOU… and about us not arguing that won’t be possible we r friends but we shouldn’t lessen the tashan- e -baazi between us otherwise it wont be fun
Avni: point…
neil though avni didn’t want to talk about herself yet so he didn’t force her…Avni looked out the window and saw they were passing the beach
Avni: Neil stop
Neil: what happened? He said stopping the car on the side
Avni: actually can we go to the beach for a bit she said pointing at the beach
Neil: won’t rhea be waiting for us at the mall ?
Avni : I will text her saying we will be a little late till then we could go there
Neil nodded and started driving to park the car in a proper place while avni quickly messaged rhea.
They Both got out the car and started walking…
Both sat down on the sand
Neil: Avni y did u want to come here all of a sudden? He said looking at avni who was looking at the sea
Avni: u know Neil. When I was small me ayesha maa and Ashish metha use to come here… we use to spend so many hours here having fun… like normal kids I use to enjoy spending time with my parents…I loved how they would take me out spend time with me…everything was going fine but then. Ashish metha got so busy in his work that he hardly use to get time for us…there was so many activities in school…when I would tell him about it he would promise that he would come to the events that would happen at my school but every time he would break his promise and never turn up. Maa was 7 month pregnant… one day I was actually fed and went to my mum and told her angrily that my dad doesn’t have time for us like before she tried to reason out that he is busy with his work but I was just not ready to listen and maa was trying to calm me down but I was just so angry that i started going without listening to her and I didnt realise maa was coming behind me and while trying to stop me she fell down as she missed a step… I just didn’t know how to react all I know was my maa called my name loudly and when I turned around I saw her about to fall but before I could get to her it was too late.. I I just didn’t know how to react… before I could get to her Ashish metha came there and stopped me from coming near… I tried talking to him at the hospital but he didn’t… doctor told us maa doesn’t have much time left although aman was saved …after that Ashish metha didn’t speak to me or looked at me…once i saw aman sleeping I was about to go to him but when Ashish metha saw that he stopped me and told me that because of me Ayesha maa is not with us…u wanted to know where my Ayesha maa was naa?… she is there at night I will see her in one of the starts she said pointing at the sky and then looked at Neil
Neil recalled ashish words from yesterday
Neil: Avni u never did anything wrong u just wanted your dad to spend time with u like before… that was an incident that happened with your mom and u r not at fault u never wished to harm your mother… maybe u should try and talk to your dad and try and clear things with him.
Avni laughed sarcastically
Avni: I tried Neil I tried all those years… I tried… I lived without a father despite having one… ketan chachu gave me a father love. But now I don’t want to clear anything with Ashish metha not at all . Neil could see the anger in Avni eyes
Neil: what about neela aunty how did she enter your life
Avni: Neela maa came into my life long before… I had known her when Ayesha maa was alive… During her visits at the metha house I had met her few times as she use to come and visit dadi and also she and Ayesha maa had become friends… but then after that I didn’t see her coming as I heard she went abroad.. after Ayesha maa had left us Dadi and hetal chachi thought its best to get ashish metha married for aman sake… and then I saw Neela maa entering the metha mansion dadi told me that she is my maa from now… the love and affection that I heard for Neela maa got replaced with a new feeling… maybe u can call it insecurity thinking she would take my Ayesha maa place… but soon that changed and I started developing the same bond with her like before and from Neela aunty she became my Neela mama… u know Neil when I was a kid I always dreamed to dress up as a bride thinking that even I will have the best life partner. I believed in love…every couple that i use to see would make me believe in love more but after my Ayesha maa passed away and what ashish metha said to me made all that go away from my life I stopped believing in all this everyone tried but Ashish metha words have stabbed my heart so much that it doesn’t have the strength to think about love.
All this while Neil looked at avni the way she was pouring her heart out was making his heart pain. It’s like he was getting to know about a different Avni compared to this one. He could see the pain on her face when she was talking about the past and but a small smile would come on her face when she would remember the happy moments… Avni looked at Neil to see him staring at her… she realised how she was pouring her heart out to him
Avni: I’m sorry i didn’t realise that I started telling u about the past
Neil smiled
Neil: I’m happy u did that shows u trust me as a friend… Avni i agree u have gone through a lot and situation made u think that u don’t deserve love and don’t want to get married… but maybe there must be someone out there waiting for u …
Avni laughed slightly
Neil: what so funny
Avni: nothing just imagine if someone knew that we r going to get married they heard u telling me all this. They would think what type of weird person u r
Neil: well luckily nobody knows about our plan I agree we r going to get married but after we separate it’s not that u can’t get married again… in fact u know what I’m gone find the perfect guy for u
Avni: please no need for that I’m happy in my own space.
Neil: that is what u think but once u have that special person in your life then u will know what love is and how beautiful it is
Avni: oh hello I’m not that Avni who believes in love now so don’t even think about and u r talking about love as if u have fallen in love before
Neil for a second remembered Juhi ( please know beating I know everyone is angry with cuhi I mean Juhi right now although I cant tolerate her behaviour towards avni)
Avni : oh hello she said snapping her fingers in front of Neil face
Neil came out of his thoughts
Avni: what happened where were u lost
Neil: nothing just thinking about a case
Avni: forget your case u wanted to know something about me and here I ended up telling u about my past but u haven’t said anything about yourself
Neil: what Do u want to know about me
Avni: well I how three things about u 1: your love to self praise yourself…2: u r ACP Neil khanna so nobody can mess with u…2:your mom and Bebe calls you tillu
Neil: look I told u nobody can call me tillu other than my mom and Bebe
Avni: Haan so when did I call u tillu I just said your mom and Bebe calls u tillu
Neil: again u called me tillu
Avni: I know I know only your mom and Bebe can call you tillu …seriously U have a habit of repeating things all the time
Neil: sorry madam but I have to repeat things as only as u don’t seem to understand
Avni: ok baba I won’t call u tillu happy.
Neil: that’s it u r gone now. He said getting up. Avni saw this and made a quick escape making sure to take her sandels off
Neil was running behind Avni while avni was trying to make sure Neil doesn’t catch her. Avni was keep on turning back to see how far Neil was and she could see he was quite near her which made her fasten her pace and with that she looked ahead only to bump into someone and then fall on the sand… Before neil could lessen his pace he tripped due to Avni sandal that was laying on the sand and fell on top of Avni..
Avni closed her eyes when she saw Neil about to fall on her and she felt some weight on her body… she opened her eyes and saw Neil face close to her and staring at her.. Avni wanted to look away but there was something that was stopping her.. both continued staring at each other when they heard people laughing… avneil came out of their staring zone and neil moved away from Avni and helped her get up
Neil: u ok?
Avni: umm yeah sorry due to my sandal u tripped
Neil: its ok.. come let’s sit there so u can wear your Sandals comfortably Avni nodded both ignored the moment that happened
Neil: Avni
Avni: hmm
Neil: u nervous for the engagement tonight?
Avni: yes and no… what about u?
Neil: no but y did u say yes and mo
Avni: I said yes because we r going to be fianc and fiance and our family would be happy thinking we agreed for the wedding when in reality it means nothing to us.. and no because I know even after we get engaged u won’t act like those controlling fianc … neil smiled and nodded
Neil: shall we go now
Avni: yeah it’s been quite late but wait
Neil: what happened ?
Avni: u still didn’t say anything about yourself
Neil: don’t worry slowly U will get to know everything about me now let’s leave.
