Ashi Singh, who gained widespread recognition for her role in Sony TV’s Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai opposite Randeep Rai, recently shared an intriguing anecdote about her journey in the entertainment industry. Before becoming a household name with her portrayal in YUDKBH, Ashi was offered a role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, one of Indian television’s most beloved shows. This offer came to her even before she landed her first major break, shedding light on an unknown chapter of her career.
In a candid interview, Ashi revealed that she had signed up for two to three shows before securing her iconic role in YUDKBH. Among these opportunities was Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She was set to play a character that would be introduced after a leap in the storyline. However, things didn’t go as planned. “I have done a few shows so far but have signed up for eight. Before Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai (YUDKBH), I had signed up for two to three shows. One of them was Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. I was supposed to play a character in that show, but that character was never introduced,” Ashi explained.
She further elaborated on how the role ultimately didn’t materialize. Despite signing the contract and preparing for the role, she received a call 15-20 days later, informing her that the character she was set to play would not be included in the show. The producers felt that introducing her character as originally planned would not add value to the storyline. This unexpected turn of events left Ashi feeling disheartened, as it had been an exciting opportunity for her at the time.
Ashi Singh has since continued to captivate audiences, most recently with her performance in Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet, where she has showcased her versatility and ongoing growth as an actress in the television industry.
