Arranged Marriage- Riansh OS

Hey guys I’m back with an OS requested by @Prabhleen.

This forum is so quiet nowadays so thought of posting now only. Second update of today😁

This isn’t related to the storyline.

Riddhima and her parents; Sheena and Rajat along with her best friend; Kabir were on a drive to a surprise destination. It was Riddhima’s 27^th birthday and her parents had prepared a gift for her which was unknown to Kabir and Riddhima. After a lot of questions from Riddhima and a lot of trials to convince her, she agreed for this surprise. She felt extremely weird, not at the fact that she was getting a surprise; she had gotten many before but at the fact that they were travelling somewhere else for the surprise.

Riddhima had dozed off in the car due to the long drive they had since the early morning. While Rajat was sitting in the front seat with the driver and Sheena with Kabir at the back with a sleeping Riddhima. As they were nearing to their destination, Rajat shouted for Riddhima to wake up.

Rajat: Riddhima! Get up girl…we’re almost there. I wasn’t you to look fresh and not sleepy, get up!

Riddhima: 5 minutes!

Kabir: Riddhu yaar! Come on!

Riddhima: Oye chachundar! Shut up and go to sleep.

Kabir: Sheena aunty you see how she treats me! (pouting)

Riddhima: (in sleep pulling his cheeks) Aww Kabir got sad!

Sheena: Riddhima get up.

Riddhima soon got up, not wanting to hear anymore of her parent’s rants. She rubbed her eyes and tucked in her messy hair behind her ears. They soon reached the destination, it was a huge mansion in which they entered. The car was parked and they got down to enter inside the gate. Outside, there was a big nameplate reading VR Mansion.

Kabir: Wow uncle, you bought this shorty a mansion? Not bad for her 27^th birthday!

Rajat: Oh Kabir, not the mansion but the surprise is waiting inside.

Riddhima: Isn’t this Vansh Rai Singhania’s house?

Rajat: You know?

Riddhima: Yea I had come here last week to host an engagement from the event management company. Why are we here?

Rajat: Then you must have met Anupriya? (she nodded) She’s my very good friend. So the surprise is inside.

They went inside and were welcomed by Anupriya. She invited them inside and they settled down, talking for some while. Riddhima got impatient and kept nudging Kabir to try talk to her father but Kabir kept ignoring her at the end receiving an elbow blow on his stomach. Anupriya finally spoke

Anu: Riddhima your surprise is here (pointing towards the staircase)

Riddhima: (blurted) Vansh!

Vansh descended the staircase with all his attitude, masking a stern face. He approached them all and passed a quick smile and smirked looking at Riddhima. Anupriya offered him to sit down while Riddhima was still in confusion.

Riddhima: What about Vansh….I mean Mr Rai Singhania?

Anu: He’s your surprise! (excited)

Riddhima: My surprise! (shouting) And him?

Anupriya nodded and asked Vansh to take her in his room so that they could talk. Vansh got up and held Riddhima’s hand while she looked at him shocked. He pulled her to his room and straightaway pinned her to the wall beside the door and caged her with his arms. They both stared at each other, sharing a deep and loving eye lock.

Riddhima broke it by pushing him slightly, getting out of the cage.

Riddhima: What kind of surprise are you?

Vansh: Your marriage, your husband. (smiling)

Riddhima: No freaking way can that be my surprise. Especially you as my husband! (chuckled) Never

Vansh: arranged marriage you see!

Riddhima: Did you suggest this?

Vansh: You bet I did!

Riddhima: Why Vansh! I told you I consider you as my friend not more than that! I can’t be your love!

Vansh: Why can’t you….what’s the problem! Look at me (stepped a bit behind and spread his arms wide) Am I not handsome? Am I not the way you would want someone to be?

Riddhima: It’s not that!

Vansh: (hurt) Then what Riddhima! (realizing) you love someone else? (hurt) Riddhima speak up dammit! (shouting)

Riddhima: Yes I do!

Vansh: (angry) Who Riddhima? That Kabir?

Riddhima: No I love that Vihaan! Not you Vansh! (angry) I have feelings for Vihaan but not Vansh.

Vansh: But that’s me!

Riddhima: I know it’s you but the personality is different! The way you were back in London and the way you were when I saw you last week was different! I fell for Vihaan and not Vansh! Be the way you were Vansh and I’ll be your bride! I don’t like these changes you’ve brought within yourself. (dejected)

Vansh: Riddhima, look I can explain

Riddhima: No! I don’t want you to explain, you’ve done that many other times. This Vansh that you’re portraying here (pointing at him) has lost his charm of Vihaan, has lost the free soul of Vihaan, has lost the caring and soft Vihaan.

Vansh: You know I can’t once again

Riddhima: If you can’t then nor can I. I’ll instead marry your cousin brother; Aryan. I’m going

Vansh stopped Riddhima in anger but cooled down as soon as her eyes met his. She had the power to calm him then why not change him? Vihaan a.k.a Vansh was different person in London whom Riddhima had met and became extremely good friends. He was entirely different, not strict but soft in nature, no anger but just calm, not responsible but carefree. Riddhima and Vihaan both loved each other however coming back to India, to his family, Vihaan changed to Vansh, the one who he is now.

Vansh: You can’t do that! Please Riddhima, I can’t for my mom.

Riddhima: I know your mom has gone through a lot, torture by your dad and all, that’s why you had changed to Vihaan then why not now. Take your mom in to that personality. If you feel Vansh is bound to his dad and his rules and torture then become Vihaan and fly off in your freedom with your mom and siblings. (explaining)

Vansh: (emotional) Ziddhima!

Riddhima: Vihaan!! (she hugged him)

Vansh was bound to his father’s torture and misbehavior but Vihaan wasn’t, he was a free soul who had his own path laid out for himself. His father, Ajay had been torturing Anupriya since their marriage had started. It was an arranged marriage for them too but just because Anupriya’s family wasn’t able to pay the dowry, he promised to torture her.

When Vansh was born, the torture had reduced however once he grew up to around 5 years old, Ajay did it in front of him. Since then Vansh had been drowning in his guilt of not being able to do much for his mom. Soon he grew up, living with the torture and guilt and left for London, for a better life. Anupriya never protested against Ajay’s action but instead stayed quiet, enduring it all for her children.

Vansh and Riddhima descended the stairs and went to the living room, joining everyone. They agreed for an arranged marriage, a surprise for Riddhima indeed. This was a different marriage, half love and half arranged.

Flashback

Riddhima: Do you agree to become Vihaan? (comforting)

Vansh: Okay for you Vihaan, for the rest Vansh. (wiping his tears) I’ll go to the washroom.

Riddhima: (to herself) I promise you Vansh, you’ll become Vihaan for everyone, for me and for yourself because I only love Vihaan not Vansh! You’ll become Vihaan and that’s my promise to you and myself. That will be my birthday gift for next year! My 28^th (determined)

Flashback ends

They got married happily, for the rest it was an arranged marriage but for them, a love marriage. Now it was Riddhima’s turn to fulfil the promise she made to herself and Vansh, to bring back the old Vihaan.
