In early May, Arjun Bijlani discovered that his credit card details had been compromised while he was at the gym. He noticed several unauthorized transactions ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 each, occurring every minute. Fortunately, he acted quickly to block his card and prevent further losses.
In a recent interview, Arjun recounted the alarming experience. He mentioned that his wife, Neha Swami, had a supplementary card, and upon checking with her, he confirmed that his card details had been leaked. On May 9, Arjun took to Twitter (now X) to inform his followers about the incident, expressing his hope that the cybercrime cell would apprehend the culprits.
Reflecting on the incident, Arjun described it as an eye-opener. He highlighted the importance of regularly monitoring bank messages and notifications to catch any unauthorized transactions early. Arjun pointed out a significant security loophole: the transactions were processed without requiring an OTP, which is typically essential for online purchases.
Arjun emphasized the need for stronger digital security measures and shared his plan to change his credit card every four to six months as a precaution. He remains hopeful that the perpetrators will be caught and his funds will be recovered.
