Madhu shares her dreams with Apollena, expressing how she always envisioned a bright future for her daughter, free from the struggles and restrictions she faced. Madhu hoped Apollena would stand strong and independent, unlike herself, who endured scoldings from her in-laws. Despite being happy about her husband’s release from jail, Madhu feels heartbroken that Apollena’s life is tied to a stranger. Apollena reassures her mother, promising to fulfill her dream of becoming an astronaut and challenging societal norms about married women pursuing careers. She vows to honor her father’s wishes and prove herself.
When Madhu’s bangle falls, Shlok returns it to her. She asks him to support Apollena in her journey and promises to support his dreams in return. Apollena confidently declares her ability to stand on her own, while Madhu, preparing to leave, reflects on the symbolism of the vermillion keeping Apollena tied to her new life. Saraswati mentions that, as a married woman, Apollena must follow traditions, but Madhu feels the vermillion is also preventing her from taking Apollena back home.
As Girdhar and Madhu prepare to leave for Chitrakoot, Girdhar refuses to acknowledge Apollena, declaring her dead to him, leaving her devastated. Mahadev tries to console her, calling her his daughter, but Apollena insists she will always be Girdhar’s daughter. Looking at her reflection, she imagines herself as an astronaut, determined to restore her father’s honor and become India’s new female astronaut.
Later, Mahadev compares marriage to stars, explaining that while they seem close, they are distant in reality. Apollena agrees, saying her relationship with Shlok is similarly distant, with no hope of closeness even over seven lifetimes. Shlok echoes her sentiments, stating his disinterest in both her and her dreams. Meanwhile, Saraswati pressures Apollena for traditional duties, creating tension.
