Annika.. Ya.. Paanika??? Episode 26

EPISODE 26 a)
Hello, everyone. Back again with my musings. I think my story’s going nowhere. Kindly drop in, leave a comment and tell me how it actually is.And if possible, give me some inspiration, guys…Thank you…!

Annika POV:
I have understood one thing in this wonderful life of mine. Happiness and Sadness both come in a truck in the road of life. But you know what, my road is so full of potholes that the truck called happiness gets diverted off the road and bumps into somewhere else while the sadness wala truck fights it out and reaches me finally.
So it was that to my ultimate shock, disapproval, tantrums and sadness that I found myself in front of the Oberoi Mansion.
I took a deep breath. I so hated my life. It seems there’s only raitha everywhere; god knows when I’m going to get some biriyani with it.
And as I proceeded towards the Mansion, I turned to my side only to see Badi maa, who, if possible, looked more resigned, with a hint of irritation. And beyond myself, I couldn’t help scold my oaf of a sister in my head.Honestly,me and Badi maa should join the league of Wives-resigned-to-Fate.

FLASHBACK:
“If I’m going, I’m not going alone, Annika dear, Please come with me.If I have you around for support ,I’ll feel better. I’ll spend all my time with the children, but seeing you there will be a very big comfort to me. Please!” ,Jhaanvi pleaded with all colour drained from her face.
“But Badi Maa, Please, don’t say another “Please’ .You know I can’t refuse you. But you know why I’m here, in the first place.”, Annika tried to reason with the woman who was closest to the mother she ever had.
“Akira tried her best but I have to still be there for 6 months, with him. If you are there, I’ll always be reminded that I have another home to return to, where I’ll be taken care of! ”Jhaanvi said in Agony.
Annika gave up. She was right. And something in her told her that she could bear him for 6 moths.After all t was not as if she was going to stay in the same room, same bed with ..him…She thought uncomfortably.

“Yes, Badi Maa”,she said amidst the fireworks she saw bursting in Jhaanvi’s face .She felt all warm and tingly. Someone actually loved her so much, that too, one in an unnamed relation.
Presently came an unknown number in front of her phone screen. The number looked familiar.
“Hello,who’s this?”,she asked.
“Me..!”,said the soft ,husky voice she had always admired.
“Why did you call? How did you get my number?”, Annika asked coldly.
“Oh come on yaar,Can’t I call you casually? ”Shivaay cooed.
“I’m not your ‘yaar’!” and you know I can cut this call right now, don’t you”, she spat.
“Don’t be so touchy,my dear wife!”,he said smugly.
“Haha…How is that?Wake up,I think some Hollywood type daaru has done your O my maata!!”,she said cheekily.
“Haww!!Come one,if you are coming to your husband’s home again,everything needs to be alright,no?And see ,you have already started copying mom’s lingo!”,he answered ,confident.
If it was possible to give a big slap via phone,Annika would’ve done just that!
“Oh.My darling,I’m not done yet!You will come to my house,only as my wife,not as Badi Maa’s confidante. Not one other than my wife will walk inside the Oberoi Mansion!”, he declared grandly.
“You know very well,that it is not necessary that I should come wherever you want, don’t you? Annika will only do as she pleases!”,she said with energy.
My girl!,Shivaay smiled to himself.”Aww,darling!You have no chance against me,or a choice!”,he stated but with some palpable nervousness.
The call just got disconnected.

“Akira!I need the divorce papers ,now, before I enter OM!”,Annika hurried.
Here goes the next part of the plan,Akira thought.
“Didi, that will take some time. There’s supposed to be the hearing, then the period for which you’ll have to stay with jiju..SO many formalities,didi,it will take time….Two to three months at least!”,Akira calculated.
“Akira,the greatest lawyer, my most loyal sister, so some magic, Please???”,Annika pleaded desperately.
“Sorry,Didi..I have no way left”, she said resignedly.
END OF FLASHBACK

And after my video tape was done,me and Jhaanvi Aunty took steps forward,grudgingly towards where Daadi was standing,happiness glittering in her eyes.She had aged considerably the last two months,both of them noted.
“I’m so happy today. It’s as if happiness has entered our lives again.Oh,there’s no limit to my happiness today. Today I feel I’m richest person! ”Daadi smiled widely and warmly.
“Daadi, we are the richest people in India! ”Rudra said, importantly.
“Didi,Aunty,please keep your feet in this water and walk inside the house.”,Akira said in a sanskaari bahu types from the other side.Soumya merely smiled widely.
Everyone except Daadi,looked on,surprised!But this was merely the tip of the iceberg!
For,to their greatest surprise, they saw the most arrogant of the Oberoi’s wearing the same colour as their wives ,walking rapidly ,standing next to their wives, before they could actually begin.
Jhaanvi and Annika just stared ahead and walked towards the tray while they felt hands clasped in theirs, tightly locking them together. They were so shocked, their eyes threatened to fall out.
After the party went in.OmRu looked at each other and said loudly,
“Yeh ho kya Raha hai?”
They heard the answer from the doyen herself, for the umpteenth time.
“Takkar ki Ishqbaazi!”
