Aniruddh Dave’s role as Shyam, a transgender in Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, has been much appreciated. The show recently had a time leap and the makers decided to not continue Aniruddh’s role in the new track.
Talking about it in an interview with BT, Aniruddh said, “When I signed the show, I thought the track would last for a few months at least, but I guess storylines change and the show went in for a leap. My track lasted just for a month. But I am happy that makers think of me when they have such interesting characters in their mind. I have always played lead roles in TV shows, but when I was offered to play the role of a transgender, I felt happy that the makers thought of me. It had an interesting look and was inspired by the concept of Ardhnarishwar. I am happy that even though the role did not last too long, it left an impression in people’s minds.”
He also shared, “I had earlier been part of Lockdown Ki Love Story and that show went off air. After that, the makers cast me in Shakti. So, I am thankful that they offered me two interesting roles, one after the other. I was playing a eunuch and the role was different from the usual roles you see. I was not wearing a sari or sporting sindoor. So, even if it was a short journey, I am happy to have played this character.”
Aniruddh is now trying his hand in production and says, “I wanted to be creatively involved in the entire process. Since I have a theatre background, I felt I should brainstorm on ideas and think of new concepts, in addition to acting for films and TV shows.”
