Amar Upadhyay, Sudhaa Chandran, and Toral Rasputra join the ensemble cast of upcoming show ‘Dori

Amar Upadhyay, last seen in “Kyunki… Tum Hi Ho,” is set to make a significant comeback in Kinnari and Jay Mehtaa’s forthcoming television series, tentatively titled “Dori.” Joining him in this new venture are accomplished actresses Sudhaa Chandran and Toral Rasputra, both of whom play pivotal roles in the show.

According to the reports, the story revolves around the special bond between a young girl and her foster father, portrayed by Amar Upadhyay. Toral Rasputra has been cast to depict the character of the girl’s biological mother. The series is set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, and the initial schedule will be filmed in Varanasi. Shooting is slated to commence at the beginning of the upcoming week.

Toral Rasputra, recognized for her iconic role as Anandi in “Balika Vadhu,” was most recently seen in “Dharm Yoddha Garud,” while Sudhaa Chandran made her last appearance in “Bekaaboo,” which concluded in August after a five-month run.

Amar Upadhyay’s previous television project was “Kyunki… Tum Hi Ho,” a show he co-produced and acted in. However, he departed from the series midway due to creative differences with the producer. Earlier in an interview, he explained his decision to leave the show, saying, “I quit the company three weeks ago and exited the show around that time. My partner and I had creative differences even before the show went on air. However, I continued to be a part of the project hoping that issues would get resolved with time. Our vision for the company was different, and it seemed best to part ways. The show has been close to my heart. I was involved in the casting and other production aspects. I don’t want the show to suffer at any cost. As per the original storyline, my character is supposed to return from the dead, and if my returning to the show can help, I will do it, especially for the faith the channel showed in me as a producer.” Nonetheless, the producer subsequently cast Manish Raisinghan to step into Amar’s role.
