PART 14
It was 3 in the night and all three brothers were in the kitchen. Mostly their kitchen moments are always fun but this time all were confused and sad. Shivay still couldn’t believe that Anika has rejected him and Om was shocked on his impatient behavior towards Gauri. Rudra was also thinking, trying to find out a way to solve his brother’s problems.
SHIVAY: I don’t know what to do. I mean I was not expecting this reaction. I…I was so happy and hopeful Om but now I am feeling as if everything is sliding away from my hand. You should have seen the reaction on her face. (Om and Rudra were now completely listening to Shivay) I saw hurt in her eyes, but I swear I have never ever intended to hurt her in any way.
He was speaking like a clueless child. Om realized that Shivay’s problem is huger then his. His brother is again losing the most precious thing of his life. “his love”.
RUDRA: Bhaiya! Please don’t worry I am sure Anika bhabhi was probably afraid of these changing of events…believe me bhaiya I have seen her looking at you with admiration and love.
OMKARA: He is right Shivay. Probably she was not ready for this…probably she got afraid or something. We all know what she went through. (Shivay closed his eyes on this thought, he didn’t wanted to think about her past. It only makes him feel guilty and helpless)
SHIVAY: You know guyz…I have always demanded her from God. I always wanted her safety and happiness and when finally I found her, I became selfish. I knew that she was getting normal and I knew that she was happy now but still I dragged her to this complex relationship. We were friends but know I have forced my proposal on her. I…I was so selfish. (He banged his fist on the slab and Om took hold of him by his shoulders)
OMKARA: Don’t you dare think this way. Are you stupid or what? Why are you blaming yourself? You did nothing wrong. You just told her that you love her. that’s it! There is nothing wrong in this you understand?
SHIVAY: But I think I lost her by saying that I love her. things were going smoothly but I ruined everything with my impatience.
Omkara recalled his act again. He also lost his patience today and now he was also feeling guilty on his act.
“there is nothing to be guilty about Bhaiya!”
They all turned their heads and saw Gauri standing there. She was listening to Shivay and she came forward. Omkara diverted his gaze. He didn’t have the courage to face her right now.
GAURI: I am not a philosopher or a behaviorist but certain things I can sense and I am damn sure that Anika loves you. I mean whenever we talk she always talks about you. What you like, what you dislike, how you use to be and how you are now. Everything! Do not doubt your feelings Shivay bhaiya. Love is strength and you cannot feel weak. (She came forward and held Shivay’s hand) You are my Shivay bhaiya. The great wall. You cannot accept defeat. I know that you know that she loves you, right? (This sentence gave Rudra a total spin because he was trying to figure out who knows what)
SHIVAY: you are so right but I am so blank right now. I don’t know how to make her realize my love.
GAURI: Leave it to me (She said this with a smirk)
RUDRA: But Bhabhi what are you going to do?
GAURI: I have a plan to make Anika realize her love. But it is difficult.
OMKARA: Nothing is difficult when it comes to love. (It was the first time after that incident that he looked into her eyes but again shifted his focus)
SHIVAY: Be clear Gauri! What do you mean?
GAURI: I mean that we only need to push Anika on a level where she will confess her feelings by herself.
SHIVAY: And how is this going to happen may I ask? (For a moment he forget his recent defeat, he was now again getting hopeful)
Gauri signaled all of them to come close and then she told them her plan. Shivay’s eyes widened on her plan. “This is not going to happen, I mean how can i…no I cant” Shivay was confused on this plan.
RUDRA: O come on bhaiya! Be a man. People do God knows what for their love and you can’t even do simple acting? How did won the businessman of the year award? Han!
OMKARA: Idiot he won that award for his business skills, not on his acting skills.
Rudra made an annoying face and it took them all an hour to convince Shivay to follow Gauri’s plan. He was convinced finally but only for his love.
“O God how strange this love is…” He went towards his room murmuring this. Few hours ago he was heartbroken but now he again held a fine string of hope in his hand. Maybe this will lead things somewhere.
The moment Shivay left Rudra also left and now only Om and Gauri were standing there. Gauri turned towards Om but he immediately stepped out of the kitchen. Gauri knew that Om was ignoring him and she understood his situation because Gauri’s reaction was cool enough to make him guilty.
Om was in his room when she entered. He took a book in his hand and while standing he pretended to read that book. Gauri stood there for few minutes and then she walked towards him. Om knew that she was looking towards him but he tried not to look at her. his moments with her few minutes ago again struck his mind. He kissing her with much passion and she didn’t respond to it. He literally felt like punching himself. Yes he loved her and obviously he needed her but he never ever wanted things to be happen like this. He always wanted to these things to happen with her permission. Gauri was now standing right in front of him and he could feel his piercing eyes on his face. He stepped back to go when he felt a grip on his book. Gauri took the book from his hand, straighten it and then gave him back. “No one can ever be more idiotic then you Omkara” He again started cursing himself in mind. He wanted to say something on his stupid act. He knew that she demanded explanation and he opened his mouth to say something and words just slip out of his mouth.
OMAKRA: ILOVE YOU (The moment he said this he realized what he has said) I….i..I mean I am sorry…I shouldn’t have done that. Believe me Gauri I had no bad intension towards you…I just
But Gauri was not listening him anymore. The only thing which stuck in his mind was those three words which he just said. Somewhere she knew that he loves her. the way he cares for her. the way he looks at her, admires her but she didn’t know that he would confess in such a way. It was awkward but definitely beautiful. World’s best husband was standing in front of him and was confessing his love her. how can she deny his affection and love? But he was just saying and saying something. Gauri again listened to him and realized that he was apologizing for his behavior.
OMKARA: Gauri please forgive me…please don’t leave me. I know I did wrong but still give me chance.
Gauri came forward and looked directly in his eyes without blinking. He stopped talking.
GAURI: You did nothing wrong Om. It was the most beautiful moment of my life (Her cheeks got red while saying this but she had to say this because this stupid guy kept apologizing for that thing) I am not angry with you.
Omkara was hell shocked. he was expecting her to be angry but she was smiling and if he was not wrong she was also blushing a little. This means that she is also…?
OMKARA: G..Gauri….you are not angry?
She nodded her head in a little no and Om felt like the happiest person in the world. He literally felt like jumping with joy. Finally, she understood him. Finally, she accepted him. She came close to her and held her hand but Gauri gently took away her hand from his. She saw fear in his eyes and that’s why she stepped forward and placed her head on his chest and wrapped her arms around him. She could feel his thumping heartbeat. Omkara slowly wrapped his arms around her and a tear of happiness escaped from his eye. “I love you so much Gauri…I love you so much, I promise it is going to be amazing, I promise to always make you happy…I PROMISE” Bothe held each other with their eyes closed and Gauri felt like being in the happiest and the safest place. She he will be a great husband. A smile crept on her face when he kissed her hair while stroking them.
They both slept on the same bed that night but Om kept a distance from her because he didn’t wanted things to get uncomfortable. He wanted to give her some time. For him it was enough that he has confessed his love for her and she has accepted it. Gauri on the other hand was feeling a very strange happiness, she was feeling light and secure. By looking at him sleeping she closed her eyes. His face was now definitely the first thing she wanted to see every morning.
In the morning Om opened his eyes and found her sleeping by hugging the pillow. How he wished to be that pillow. Dim morning light entered the room and he again recalled the last night talk. A huge smile appeared on his face as he placed some of her hair strands behind her ear. His fingers made a ticklish sensation on her skin and she opened her eyes and found him half bending on her. “Good morning” he said and held her hand. Gauri squeezed a little but she composed herself and said “Good morning”
OMKARA: You know in relationships couples says good morning by…..
GAURI: BY?
OMKARA: By kissing each other…(he smiled naughtily and bend a little towards her and she immediately held the pillow high and placed it between their faces. Omkara unknowingly dug his face into the pillow and Gauri stood up from the bed laughing)
GAURI: Not going to happen (She said this by showing him her thumb)
OMKARA: Not fair..
GAURI: Everything is fair in love and war
OMKARA: OK then… (He came forward, held her wrist and pushed her on him. She landed on the bed against him and Om held her tightly)
GAURI: Om leave me I need to go (She was struggling in his hold but he refused to let her go)
Gauri looked at him for a moment and then she placed a kiss on his cheek and Om closed his eyes. Feeling him losing the grip she got up and went towards the door. She didn’t turn back because her face was all red and she didn’t wanted him see her like this.
“Come down quickly…you know na today is Shivay bhaiya’s engagement” she said this and went away. Om on the other hand just hugged the pillow. “Look at me behaving like a teenager” he smiled on the fresh new wave of love which he just felt.
She couldn’t believe her eyes. He was standing with a girl, both holding each other hands and his announcement. He just announced his engagement with this girl called Mlika. Last night he proposed her and now today he got engaged to another girl. Everyone was hell shocked. but it was Shivay so no one said anything. She was so shocked to react that when he came in front of her and introduced her fiancé to her, all she could do was to excuse herself from there.
The moment Anika almost ran away from there, Dadi held his ear in her hand and squeezed it hard. “Khotaya! You love Anika and you are going to marry Malika”
SHIVAY: A…Dadi please leave my ear it hurts. (Malika and Gauri were laughing a little but Shivay gave them a deadly stare so both stopped)
SHIVAY: Dadi I am not marrying her. how can I marry her when I love Anika (“and I love Sidhart” Malika added to this) this is just a plan to make her realize her love that’s it. I know she loves me dadi she just needs to be pushed. And Malika is just helping me out. Seriously guyz I need all of your help.
So this was the plan. Everyone was now a part of this plan except that one girl who was sitting on her bed and was trying to avoid crying. “You lost him yourself Anika, now don’t feel bad”
She knew it was going to be hard for her and everything is hard. It was difficult in the past and it will be difficult in the future as well. So lets just face it. She composed herself and went down to be a part of the celebration.
