Nidhi: But I didn’t have any other option left!
Karan:What do you mean?
Nidhi: I have my own reasons for behaving like that to you.
Karan: Please tell me what the reasons are? I want to know..what if I could help?
Nidhi: I don’t want any sympathy!
Karan: what are you saying? You will never get sympathy from me…you will only get love and respect from me! Do you get it ?
Her heart melted but then she controlled herself..
Nidhi: Karan… please… why don’t you understand???
Karan: I can understand only if you tell me what is bothering you!
Nidhi couldn’t help it but to tell the truth.
Nidhi: I have a skin disease, that spread on touch, because of which I won’t get a normal life! I told you to stay away from me all because of that disease! It has ruined my life…. (Ayonija u guessed it right!)
Karan: we can get it cured right?
Nidhi: I don’t know! And I don’t think so! Do you get it now? So, for god sake stay away from me!
Karan: like I’m gonna obey you!
He smiled at her. Picked his guitar and walked away, leaving the worried Nidhi right there!
Few days later..
After College:
Karan and Nidhi almost bumped into each other! But both of them controlled each other from coming too close.. as Nidhi was scared that it would affect him! And Karan didn’t want to loose Nidhi! He had fallen in love with her irrespective of her skin disease!
Karan: Hi, Nidhi!
Nidhi looked at the floor and moved aside to walk of from there! Karan stepped towards the same side, stopping her.
Nidhi held her books even more tighter and hugged it.
Nidhi: Karan, move!
Karan: No! I have to take you somewhere!
Nidhi: I’m not going anywhere with you!
Karan immediately knelt down folded his hands and begged…with a puppy face..
Karan: Nidhi… please… please please please please!!!
Nidhi was shocked by the way he behaved.. She looked around. Half the college was still there, many were staring at the two of them.. She looked back at and in a low voice ( but fast) quiet embarrassed!
Nidhi: Karan!! Kya kar rahe ho? Get up!!
Karan: only if you would go with me!
Nidhi was a little irritated ?
Nidhi: ok, fine! Just get up!
Karan: Promise??
Nidhi: yaa Karan!!! Get up!
Karan got up smiling..
Karan: come! Let’s go!
Karan (narration):Nidhi walked with me despite being annoyed by the way I behaved … I took her to a very famous skin specialist..Dr.Rajeev khanna !
Dr. Prescribed few medicines and suggested her to stay at home for a week..
Karan used to call Nidhi so many times during that week , that her call log was filled with Karan’s name! Soon a month was over..
Karan had told his brother about all this.. Soon Kunal arrived at Karan’s house and..
Kunal: Karan are you mad! She has a skin allergy.. What if it affects you?
Karan( narration): I had asked Nidhi to come home so that we could go to meet Dr. Khanna together! But she had met him earlier and came home to surprise me with the results of the treatment she had gone thru..
Kunal: Karan, you have done enough here! I’m telling Masima ! You need to change the college! Do you have any idea what you are doing? You have not concentrated on your studies for over a month!!! Karan! Bhai you need to forget her and leave from here!
Karan: oh come on, Bhai!!! Don’t be so stupid! And I’m not gonna go from here! Nidhi!! She is coming home! Today I need to go to the hospital with her for the results!
Kunal: bohot ho gaya Karan this is too much! Have you attended your classes properly? And who is that girl? I hope she would get well soon but Karan I’m worried for you! Looks like you are madly in love with her!
Karan: Yeah I love her! She is my first and last! And today’s results will be a positive one so then we both will get. back on track with studies! So chill bhai!
Saying this Karan turned around and found Nidhi standing at the door. Her eyes filled with tears. She had a report in her hand. She had heard the whole conversation! She stood still.
Karan almost jumped with joy seeing Nidhi at the door and he ran towards her. Nidhi smiled at him.
He suddenly noticed her eyes filled with tears, and the report in her hand. He looked at her. Then pulled out the report from her hand and read the report with a worried and nervous expression! I jumped up with joy! Looked back at her with a sigh of relief! She giggled at his expression, with tears flowing out! He slowly brought his hands up and cupped her face and then he wiped her tears! She shut her eyes and felt the earth of his hands on her cheeks, which made her feel protected! She then slowly opened her eyes. Walked forward and hugged Karan tightly! He stood shocked for few seconds then he responded by hugging back..
Karan (narration): I don’t know what she had been thinking but I felt really happy for her! I wanted to be with her forever!
Naina silently wiped her tears away as she heard this! Making sure Karan didn’t see those tears!!!!
Karan(narration) : She suddenly broke the hug. I kept looking at her. She slowly looked at the ground. I knew something was wrong!
Karan: Nidhi?!? Is everything alright?
Nidhi: Bye Karan…I need to go.. I have some work to do!
Karan: Arrey!
He said that as her hands slipped away from his hands! She turned around and walked away looking very lost!
He ran after her and held hand stopping her from moving forward!
Karan( gentle voice): Nidhi… Kya hua yaar? Is everything ok? Tum mujhse kuch kehna chahthi ho? Please open up yaar!
Nidhi broke down. She was crying uncontrollably. He hugged her keeping her head on his chest. She felt safe but she suddenly stopped herself and broke the hug and turned around , pushing him with one hand! avoiding eye contact!
Nidhi: tum chale jao Karan! Yahan se door! Please! Tum mere wajah se…
Karan took a step back hearing her..a tear escaped his eyes!
Nidhi: Karan… tumhe.. apne bhai ki.. baat sun ni chahiye! Chale jao Karan! Mein… Mein… nahi chathi ke tum mere sath apna time waste karo!
She was weeping… Tears were flowing out of Karan eyes badly! She immediately left from there! Karan ran back home.
Kunal came out of his room. Karan just gave a dead look and walked into his room!
Kunal: tujhe kya ho jaya? Why are you crying??
Karan: You dare open your mouth! After killing me, you ask me why I am crying? So, then you expect me to laugh is it?
Kunal was shocked! He had never heard such things come out of Karan’s mouth! He stood still as he saw Karan bang the door behind him!
He sat there inside his room for a hour. His phone was kept outside.
The phone rang..
