Actress Sayantani Ghosh slams Radhika Madan for her comments on the television industry; says, “There’s also Mouni Roy who has grace and gratitude”

Sayantani Ghosh, who rose to fame with her stint in and as Naagin recently expressed her displeasure over Radhika Madan’s comments on the television industry. During an interview, Sayantani said the exact line of Radhika with which she had a problem was when she was told on set, “Garma garam script aa rahi hai, madam aap jaake perform karo.”

Sayantani also praised Radhika’s acting skills but revealed that Radhika’s interview with an entertainment portal left her ‘hurt, disappointed and angry’. The actress said, “Radhika talked about her reasons for transitioning from television to films where she spoke about long working hours, nonavailability of scripts, being treated like machines etc. There was also a portion where Radhika’s director told her to do the scene rather than discuss it because it wasn’t a film set where they could do so for three days.”

She added, “When people start from TV and reach a certain status, then why do they bicker about television ka yeh hai…woh hai. Television feeds hundreds of homes, it gives you employment, and the biggest of TV stars also choose the medium to promote their films. I have a problem with the approach. You want to do a movie. You start with TV, you become a star, you earn so much money which gives you the holding power to start your movie journey and you can choose to wait for the right time.”

Sayantani added that it is her friend Mouni Roy who is class apart in that sense. “She is a very dear friend of mine. She started her journey with television and she is into movies now. Whatever interviews I have heard of her, there’s a certain grace and gratitude. That I couldn’t see in Radhika. There are many others who look down upon TV. I have a problem with that.”

On the professional front Sayantani is currently seen in Alibaba: Dastaan-E-Kabul.
