Actor Mayank Arora opens up on quitting Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai; says, “I think it was time to bid adieu to Kairav”

The popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been witnessing back-to-back exits. After Sharan Anandani and Paras Priyadarshan, Mayank Arora aka Kairav has bid adieu to the show. During a recent conversation with ETimesTV, Mayank talked about the reason for making an exit from the show and shared, “I think it was time for the character to end, we parted ways amicably. It all ended mutually and on a good note. About the character, every role has its highs and lows in a daily soap and Kairav was a strong character so I knew it will have its track. I am going to miss the whole team, Aaru and Akshu. It becomes like a family when you are working with them every day.”

Talking about his future plans, Mayank shared, “Now, fingers crossed something new shall happen. I have explored enough in my career. I always look for content be it web series, movies, or TV shows. The content and character must match and balance and I keep seeking balance in all my projects. I am open to all be it Web, TV, or Films.”

When asked about the kind of content that interests him, Mayank replied, “I haven’t thought of what I would take, if it is within my boundaries then I will accept it. With the characters I have played, I am sure I will get something that I wouldn’t refuse. I am quite keen on doing a gangster flick if offered and I would take a step back from something bold in terms of content.”

Talking about the one quality that he loved about Kairav he quipped, “Kairav’s simplicity and honesty. I loved playing Kairav, I am that kind of person so I enjoyed it. I enjoyed playing Kairav’s mental breakdown sequence and I had a lot of fun exploring it.”
