Jhanvi got up early in the morning and showered. Wearing a deep pastel maroon shirt and a black pencil skirt with black pumps and a light makeup to highlight the most beautiful attributes of her face. She went downstairs, had a healthy breakfast and went to meet her mother in-law. She had a long argument with the latter about the concerned topic and she had to agree to Jhanvi’s arguments. Taking blessings, she went out, dismissed the driver and drove to her destination.
Priyanka sneaked in as soon as she saw the coast was clear and jumped into her bed and drifted off to sleep. Shivaay had woken up early in the morning but crept out of the room, feeling it impossible to meet Anika’s gaze- he had no heart to bear the disappointment he felt in her eyes. It was the first time he had hurt someone so horribly and the person was Anika. Quickly he freshened up and went downstairs to the kitchen.

On the other side, Anika woke up quite late in the morning but sat sadly on the bed. Her outfit was crumbled, her head felt heavy from the yesterday’s crying and her body hurt from sleeping uncomfortably. A knock sounded at the door and she looked up. She was surprised to see Tej at the door. “Shall I come in, beta? I’ve got some of Jhanvi’s clothes for you. I remember you not bringing anything.” He sat down next to her” Remember the time when I had called you a family member- I meant it, I still mean it.. Beta, whatever happened was very unfortunate but you have been strong all your life; stay strong this time as well. I am not asking you to forgive Shivaay but try to understand him. He has never expressed himself but I know he loves you- a lot. Try not to be bitter, we all are here for you. Take care and come downstairs, breakfast is at the table. ” After breakfast, Shivaay followed Anika to the room.

“Get ready, Anika.” “I’m not your slave, Shivaay. I will not follow your orders.” “Well, you see, you don’t have a choice. Get ready yourself and get your brother ready as well.” “I will go with you, keep Saahil out of this” Anika’s throat tightened at the thought of Shivaay ill treating Saahil. “You two have half an hour. Meet me outside”. Half an hour later, they were speeding to some unknown destination with Anika sitting beside Shivaay who was at the wheel and Saahil secured and sulking in the back seat. When the car stopped, Anika’s mouth fell open in surprise looking at the Physiotherapy center and turned towards Shivaay with the same shocked expression.

“How did you think I will not meet my promise Anika,”

she felt his hazel eyes speaking. Shivaay watched the swell of gratefulness in her eyes and a flicker of old trust in background as a teardrop oozed out the corner of her eyes. “Not Physio again di” Saahil shouted from background. Almost reluctantly, Anika tore her gaze away from Shivaay’s “Sorry yaar Saahil, par agar tere ko theek hona hai to ye to karni hi paregi. Chal mai tujhe aaloo puri khilaungi” somehow she convinced Saahil and took him. Shivaay went to the office, much relaxed than before. A tiny hope arose and budded in his mind- maybe everything will be alright soon.
