CHAPTER 41: PRE WEDDING FESTIVITIES KICK OFF IN VR MANSION!!

SCENE 1: Vansh got freshen up and came inside his room to find riddhima packing her clothes…

Vansh: Riddhima?? What the hell? Where are you going? did something happen? Did i do something wrong?

Riddhima: *looks at him and kisses on the cheek* All your questions explained?

Vansh: That explains that you are not mad at me but, the packing of clothes still not answered?

Riddhima: I am going away with mom and dad..cool?Ok?

Vansh:  Ok? No not ok! And not very cool! WHY??

Riddhima: Vansh you wanted to be the rituals our way also right? It includes not seeing the bride for some rituals that’s why i am going to live with my parents until the marriage..

Vansh: *sulking* Riddhimaaa, without you, how can i?

Riddhima: Well you don’t see bride and groom sleeping in the same room right after engagement right?

Vansh: Well then i also don’t see a bride kissing right after engagement…

Riddhima: Well…that’s an exception for love marriage, now don’t sulk so much, its not good to stop people who are going, it might turn bad for them

Sulekha: *knocks the door* Riddhima?? Are you done?

Riddhima: Yeah ma, i am coming..

Riddhima was about to leave..

Vansh: *holds her wrists* Riddhima, atleast can i get a hug before you go?

Riddhima: Aww, look at you, no one will believe if i say that you are the same broody business man i met a few months ago

She hugs him tightly…and both of them whisper i love you to each other…

SCENE 2: Next day they kick off the wedding celebrations…vansh came down for haldi ceremony….

Vansh: Don’t they have any ritual to include in this haldi ceremony?

Anupriya: They do infact, after the haldi ceremony trust me its going to be fun..first we will start applying the haldi to you and then we will send the rest to riddhima’s house..

They finish off the ceremony and anupriya tells Aryan to go and give the haldi…

On the other side riddhima was wearing a beautiful light yellow saree with white blouse cladded with some oxidised jewellery, to tease vansh she took a photo of herself and sent it to vansh..

In text..

Vansh: Looking absolutely good..

Riddhima: Trust me i know, did anu ma tell you the next ritual after haldi?

Vansh: No, but she is not letting me go and freshen up, she said to wait any idea why?

Riddhima: I know why and trust me you wouldn’t want to know…

Vansh: All the more reason to know! Now tell me! What is it?

Riddhima: Anu ma, told it will be a surprise right? Then wait, vansh?

Vansh: Hmm?

Riddhima: I am sorry! Anyway bye Aryan came up with haldi, so bye love you!

She goes offline

Vansh’s pov: Why did she tell sorry?

Anupriya: Vansh? Come with me..

She takes him into the backyard..

Vansh: Why do i think this is not going to well? *looks at something* Oh no! Please tell me we are not doing what i think we are going to do!

Anupriya: Well son, you wanted their rituals right?

Vansh: MA? Are you crazy? Do you expect me to get drenched in the backyard? What is this ritual even??

Anupriya: *hands over the phone* Ask your another ma..

Vansh: *takes the phone* Ma? What is this?

Sulekha: After haldi, in our side we pour the water on the groom and bride, water mixed with turmeric, pure oil and sandal paste, as a holy bath to purify your souls and body before you both get tied to this sacred relationship of marriage…sorry beta, but it has to be done..

Vansh: Ma, this ritual has a very deep meaning i will do it for..us!

Sulekha: Just so you know this will be done again on the day of marriage..

Vansh: Atleast i will be used to it by then..*laughs*

Anupriya: Ready?

Vansh: More than ever!

Both riddhima and vansh carry out this ritual…but riddhima catches cold..

AT NIGHT…

Riddhima: *coughs* Wow, the cold doesn’t get better!

Hears a knock at the window..

Vansh: Riddhima?

Riddhima: What the hell are you doing here??

Vansh: I heard that you were unwell, so..

Riddhima: You came? And what is this from a window?

Vansh: Well, i always regretted that we didn’t have that lover’s experience of hiding and talking, searching ways to talk to each other…looks like i am going to experience all those before this wedding..

Riddhima: So did you like the water ritual?

Vansh: Not quite interesting but i think i passed, how is your cold?

Riddhima: Well, i made some tea for myself, worked quite well, but still was having a head ache so i was about to drink rasam you came here..

Vansh: Rasam? As in ritual??

Riddhima: Oh god! Rasam as in a food dish in south india, drinking it helps with cold..

She has the rasam and was talking to vansh..

Riddhima: Now i have to try to sleep..you also go, you might have to wake up early in the morning tomorrow..

He gets on the bed, and removes his shoes…

Riddhima: Vansh? Why are you removing the shoes?

He pulls her onto the bed..

Vansh: Why do you have to try when your husband is here? Come!

Riddhima: Vansh? Are you crazy?

Vansh: Shh! *he pulls her inside the sheets and makes her head rest on his chest, and slowing starts caressing her head, indicating her to sleep*

SCENE 3: At 4:00 am..

Sulekha: *knocks on the door* Riddhima wake up! It’s almost time for puja and after that we have to go for mehendi ceremony to VR mansion! WAKE UP!

Riddhima: *jerks up* Vansh!! Vansh wake up!!

Vansh: *pulls her closer* *sleepy voice* Let’s sleep riddhima!

Riddhima: *hits him on the chest* WAKE UP! You have to leave! NOW!

Vansh: *groans* FINE!

He leaves..
