CHAPTER 40: MARRY ME?!

SCENE 1: Vansh was teasing riddhima..after the wonderful date they had…

Vansh: Riddhima, you know what i was wondering? I was wondering nothing in our marriage was normal, i mean you directly married me so i  thought we should marry again…with all the rituals this time..

Riddhima: You won’t believe me, dadi was also suggesting the same the other day…with all the mess and chaos over now, she wanted to get us married perfectly this time..

Vansh: Then why didn’t you tell me?

Riddhima: I thought you didn’t wanted it so i denied dadi, now since you also agree we should start with the rituals..

Vansh: Yeah, but this time don’t forget to call your parents, otherwise they would literally kill me this time..

Riddhima: Ha Ha Ha very funny!

Vansh: This time we will do the marriage according to your south Indian and our side mixed..

Riddhima: But vansh, our side has lot of rituals which you people don’t!

Vansh: I am more than willing to do all of them..for you..

SCENE 2: Riddhima’s parents come over…

Paritosh: Why this sudden wedding again?

Vansh: Papa, remember when i said that i would marry her again if you wanted to? So anyway we didn’t have any rituals in our wedding we just directly had our wedding so we thought now would be the correct time to get married again and you guys also will have the chance to see your daughter’s wedding again..

Kabir: Uncle, please hand over the luggage..

Sulekha: Kabir??

Riddhima: Ma, papa come with me i will show the room..

In the room..

Sulekha: What is kabir doing here??

Riddhima: *she explains the whole thing* So now he is staying with us with asha aunty..anupriya mom is also getting used to it, but both vansh and kabir have put the past behind and they are working together, it’s good right!

Paritosh: You coming into their lives changed them a lot riddhima, and at the end of the day everyone is happy, that’s enough for us..

Riddhima: Ma, vansh wanted our side marriage rituals also to be mixed..

Sulekha: But our side has a lot of rituals than his side right?

Riddhima: He agreed to do it all..

Sulekha: Perfect then, i will look into what has to be done…why don’t we arrange nichithartham/ roka today itself?

Riddhima: Followed by engagement?

Sulekha: Yeah, i will talk to your dadi and priest about it

SCENE 3: Vansh and riddhima were getting ready for their roka & engagement, as the time was very auspicious to conduct both..

Vansh was wearing a cream color kurta sported by a scarf like clothing

while riddhima was wearing a beautiful light green color lehenga beautifully intricated with silk embroidery

..vansh was sitting on the couch waiting for riddhima to ascend down the stairs…

Paritosh: Nervous?

Vansh: I have been married to her before shouldn’t be nervous i guess?

Paritosh: I also have been married to my wife for many years if i had to marry her again i will still be nervous..vansh, it’s ok you are okay to feel nervous…i mean who would want to go through the misery of marrying again?

Vansh: *laughs* Papa, marrying riddhima is never a misery to me, i would marry her more than twice…just seeing her as my bride makes me nervous and doubt what have i done soo good in my life to deserve her..

Just then riddhima comes down…

Riddhima: *sits beside vansh* Did i miss any conversation?

Paritosh: Not much, just me nagging about your mother…

Dadi: Sulekha ji, since vansh wanted both the mix of weddings…our side we do roka separately and engagement separately…

Sulekha: In our side we do them both together, we exchange clothes and gifts, the bride’s side will give the groom’s clothes, and similarly vice versa…we have arranged the gifts…

Anupriya: Ma, sulekha ji informed me about this, i also have arranged the gifts to be given to riddhima..

Dadi: Then what are we waiting for? Exchange them..

Paritosh: First the priest sees their horoscopes and then announces the nearest wedding then we exchange the gifts and they exchange rings…

Siya: Wow! This is all new! I am excited, this is soo different from our side weddings right ishani?

Ishani: I don’t know what is the difference! At last they have to be married only right? Now i have to sit through both sides rituals, which is going to kill me!

Siya: Why are you always such a buzzkill?

Ishani: Me and buzzkill? Is there any buzz at all to kill here?

Dadi: Ishani, please shut up! And let your brother enjoy his wedding!

Ishani: I am bearing all this only for Bhai! As if i would care for riddhima!

SCENE 4: Vansh and riddhima were having dinner with their family….

Sulekha: Anupriya ji, remember a few months back we told that we will be permanently moving here since all our relatives our here? And also paritosh’s transfer?

Anupriya: Yeah what about that?

Sulekha: We thought we should go back to the home, our dear friend look after the house and it’s finally perfect to be moved in, so were wondering to take riddhima back to the house..

Anupriya: But why?

Sulekha: There are few rituals in which they should not see each other and some rituals need to be particularly done at bride’s home…thats why, just until wedding is over…

Anupriya: I have no problem..did you inform riddhima?

Sulekha: Oh yeah we did, she said she was going to pack the luggage..

Anupriya: Wow, really feels like they are going to get married for the first time..

Kabir: Aunty? I have kept all your luggage in the car..shall we go?

Sulekha: Yeah kabir, let riddhima also come then we will leave together…
