CHAPTER 25: PERFECT STORM?!

SCENE 1: Vansh is looking at riddhima, waiting for an answer for his question…

Vansh: Can you feel it? My pain? Answer me damn it!!

Riddhima: I can’t! I can just imagine your pain, and even imagining your pain hurts me, my heart is heavy with your pain! i..

Vansh’s sits on the bed, keeping his hands on his knees and palms on his face…

Vansh: I am hurt riddhima, this time deeply! People have scars. In all sorts of unexpected places. Like secret roadmaps of their personal histories. Diagrams of all their old wounds. Most of our wounds heal, leaving nothing behind but a scar. But some of them don’t. Some wounds we carry with us everywhere and though the cut’s long gone, the pain still lingers. You remind me that pain every single damn time!!

Riddhima kneels down facing him….

Riddhima: I didn’t….i…i..am…i..jus..*she cries and hugs him but vansh leaves the room* 

  After a while Vansh and riddhima come down for breakfast….

Dadi: Mrs. Dsouza, please go and call, riddhima’s parents….

Riddhima: Mrs. Dsouza, wait, i will go…

Mrs.Dsouza: Ok mam…

Her parents come out after a while…

Vansh: Ma, i will not come for dinner tonight, i have some important work, so don’t keep waiting for me…

Anupriya: Vansh, i think you meant to say that to riddhima *laughs* It’s ok vansh, you can tell her directly, no one will judge you…

Vansh: I will take your leave then, it’s already getting late…and i will send some workers for extra help, for tomorrow…*he leaves* 

Riddhima: Ma, is there something special tomorrow?!

Anupriya: *her smile instantly drops* Tomorrow, it’s Ajay’s, i mean Vansh’s dad, death anniversary, every year we hold, a puja and do some donations to the orphanage..

Riddhima: I am sorry, i didn’t know about that…

Anupriya: It’s ok, it’s just a matter of time, and you will get to know everything…

Paritosh: I am sorry to interrupt, but we will be leaving afternoon itself….

Riddhima: But you said, you will leaving evening right?

Paritosh: I know riddhima, but i hope you will understand…

Riddhima: Ok..

SCENE 2: Riddhima is in the kitchen with dadi..

Dadi; Riddhima, i have written the list of items that needs to be bought, for the donations, can you go to the shops and get it?

Riddhima: Sure dadi, my work here is almost done……can i ask you something?

Dadi: Sure beta..

Riddhima: How did Ajay papa die?

Dadi: He died of heart attack beta, and after that vansh had to take over the business when he was in college, he came from london, and took over the business…I always feel sad, because Vansh and Ajay had a big fight regarding something before he left to london, no one spoke about it after that….

Riddhima’s pov: That’s why Vansh was hurt soo deeply, i reminded him about the pain and fights with his father…

Riddhima: Anyway dadi i will leave…i suppose there are a lot of items to buy?

Dadi: Yes…take the driver with you…

Riddhima comes out after changing her dress..

Riddhima’s pov: Um..there are no drivers, looks like everyone took them all! Should i tell dadi? No, why to bother her, i will call a cab…

A cab comes and she gets in…

Riddhima: *she shows him a address* Go to this shop…

Driver: Ok mam…

SCENE 3: Vansh is in the office with rudra….

Vansh: Rudra, what do the latest reports say? Will he be okay? Is he recovering, or do we need to shift his hospital?

Rudra: Sir, the doctors are saying he is recovering, but at a slow speed, his body is having a hard time accepting the treatment, so it may take time…

Vansh: Don’t tell me next time he needs time, because we don’t have that! I need him to speak, i need the information, he is the only one who can tell us what we want! Now leave…!

Rudra leaves…

Vansh’s pov: I spoke to riddhima, very rudely today, she might have felt bad,i need to talk to her or maybe apologize….

SCENE 4: Riddhima is busy with shopping…

Riddhima: Now more 5 items are left but where can i find them, i roamed around everywhere, but couldn’t find these *someone taps on her shoulder and she turns back* Va..Kabir?

Kabir: Hi! *notices the nuptial chain and vermilion* So you married him afterall?

Riddhima: Please kabir, if you are here to lecture me, then please leave…

Kabir: Riddhima, i am sorry for what i told you last time, i mean i didn’t mean any of it, i just…i just blurt things out which doesn’t make any sense when i am angry, so i am really sorry..*notices the bags in her hand* So What are you shopping?

Riddhima: Oh these are for donations, but i am unable find these items…*shows him the list* I searched everywhere…but i couldn’t find them…and this is not even hyderabad, so i don’t even know where to look…

Kabir: Well, you could always ask a friend, and when you have *points towards him* such a amazing friend, then why tension? I think i know where to find these, i know a friend who is interested in collecting such things, let me give him a call…

Riddhima: Thanks kabir…

Riddhima’s pov: I guess i can even ask him about his father…

Kabir: Riddhima, if you free to come, it’s a little far away from the city..

Riddhima: I just need them, no matter how far it is…

Kabir: Fine, then come let’s go in my car..

SCENE 5: Vansh calls riddhima…

Vansh’s pov: I guess she is angry on me..let me call dadi..*he calls dadi* 

Dadi: Vansh?

Vansh: Dadi, if riddhima is around you please give the phone to her..

Dadi: But she is not home beta, she went for shopping the items for donations..

Vansh: Oh! But it’s past 8:00 and she is not home yet?

Dadi: Don’t worry, she called me and told that she will be late…

Vansh: But dadi, she is alone at this time!?

Dadi: Vansh, she can take care of herself…

Vansh: Where was she when she called you last?

She tells him the mall’s name…

Dadi: But she might have gone from there..

Vansh: Ok dadi..*he cuts the call* Dadi, thinks riddhima can take of herself, but she doesn’t know that riddhima always attracts problems like a magnet…and i can’t trust her in this matter…i will go home, and then call her again..

SCENE 6: Riddhima is with kabir..

Riddhima: Thanks a lot kabir, i mean if it wasn’t you, i would have never found these..

Kabir: Oh its ok, if you need help, remember that i will always be around for your help..even my mom relies on me for such things…and after virat, it’s just us now, we depend on each other..anyway we are home! I mean your home…

Riddhima: Thanks alot kabir…

Vansh also comes near the gate at the same time, and sees them in the same car and stops..

Vansh’s pov: So she took what i said seriously, and met him? Perfect way to end my day!

In the car…

Kabir: I wish i was there for him…

Riddhima: *hugs him from her seat* Don’t worry kabir, there are somethings which we cannot control, you can’t blame yourself for everything! It’s just going to hurt you more, and remember what i said, he would have never liked to see you like this, virat always wanted to see you smiling and happy right?

Vansh: Wow! If she liked him that much then why did she ever agree to marry me??
