CHAPTER 21: TELL ME SWEET LITTLE LIES?!

SCENE 1: Riddhima and Vansh are on their way to a temple….

Vansh: So how should we start!?

Riddhima: Simple, stop the car…

Vansh: Fine!

Riddhima: There is actually a turn ahead, and if we take that turn, it’s like a circle to way back here, so we have to start from here and then whoever reaches faster, they win!

Vansh: *smirks* Interesting, very interesting! So you want to go first?

Riddhima: Sure…

They exchange seats and keep the stopwatch ready….

Vansh: Ready?!

Riddhima: No wait, let me…you know what just wait! I will tell when i am ready!

Vansh: Fine, got cold feet? Of losing?

Riddhima: haha never! I am ready! Start the stopwatch when i start ok?!

Riddhima starts the car, and steps on the accelerator…and in no matter of time, they reach the starting point…

Riddhima: WOAH!! What was the timing?

Vansh: 2:30, impressed sweet heart!

Riddhima: If i were you, i’d be impressed by myself! Anyway, now it’s your turn, try to beat that timing!

Vansh: Well, i will try!

They again exchange seats and this time Vansh also starts the car with high speed and they are back again at the starting point…

Vansh: Well, that felt good! Time?

Riddhima: *shocked and annoyed* 2:00 minutes!

Vansh: Damn!

Riddhima: Why? You won right?

Vansh: Yes, but my best timing is 1:30, somehow i missed it!!

Riddhima: Best timing?!

Vansh: Come on sweetheart, you didn’t notice? That i have a passion for racing and cars? Anyway, i guess i won this bet! So shall we continue our journey?

Riddhima: Yeah sure! But you can ask only 5 questions and not more than that!

Vansh: Fine!

Riddhima’s pov: I hope he doesn’t ask me something very personal, that can sabotage my purpose of marrying him!

Vansh: 1st question – What is the biggest regret of your life? and no lies you promised!

Riddhima: Fine, My biggest regret?!*thinking* Yes! There was this one time, when a teacher punished me all the time! For unnecessary reasons, but later i realized that what she did, was right, and i regret that i couldn’t tell her sorry for hating her and thanks for shaping into this individual women i am today! That’s it! Next question…

Vansh: Hmm! Well, actually before i go on to the next question, i have  to tell you something, actually give you something….

Riddhima: What?!

Vansh: You can also ask me 5 questions, since you really impressed me with the timing, so actually, you can ask me question, but to answer that question or not will solely depend on me!

Riddhima: Fine, then can i go ahead!

Vansh: Sure do!

Riddhima: Same question, what is your biggest regret?

Vansh: My biggest regret? That would be not talking to a person and hearing their side of the story, before that person died…

Riddhima: So that person, i mean whoever you have in mind is dead?! Can i know who that was?

Vansh: Not interested to answer that question! My turn!

Riddhima’s pov: Kabir is alive, or maybe he is talking about that girl shruti?! Or he is talking about kabir and telling like he is dead for him! Ughh, his answers are as confusing as he is!

Vansh: *snaps finger in front of her* answer?

Riddhima: I am sorry, i didn’t hear the question, can you repeat?

Vansh: Did you love anyone?

Riddhima: Yes! Next question, my turn right?!

Vansh: Yes, sure…

Riddhima: Why you and kabir are at loggerheads all the time? What is the reason?

Vansh: sweetheart, that is 2 questions, and i would like to answer the first one, we both hate each other, so we fight!

Riddhima: But…

Vansh: My turn! Do you still love him?

Riddhima’s pov: I can’t say yes, if i do , he will try to find out who is that guy, and if he finds out that i loved abhi, my whole plan will be destroyed!

Riddhima: Um..No! It was a matter of 3-4 years back, when i was in college, and moreover it was one sided, that’s it! Anyway, my turn! did you love someone?

Vansh: No!

Riddhima’s pov: How could he straight away tell a lie to my face??

Vansh’s pov: If i said, that i won’t answer this question, then my answer would have been simple that it’s a yes….

Vansh: Anyway, we have arrived at our destination, and i am done with this game, i don’t have anymore questions for you!

Riddhima: But i am not done!

Vansh: Sweetheart, you got a chance because i gave it to you, so give it up! Come let’s go to the temple…

Riddhima: Fine!

They visit the temple, and suddenly it starts raining….

Riddhima: The puja is done here, we can leave..

Vansh: We can’t actually! The roads will be filled with water, and taking the car in that direction, is not good, we have to stop here for a while, until the rain stops….

Riddhima: But there are a lot of rituals to complete at home….

Vansh: It’s ok, i will call dadi, she will understand…

He tries calling dadi…

Vansh: Damn!!

Riddhima: Let me guess, not reachable or no signals!

Vansh: *nods* The rain is not even stopping!

Riddhima: So what should we do now?

Priest: What happened dear? You still didn’t leave?

Riddhima: Actually, the roads are filled with water, and it’s risky to go now…*sneezes* 

Priest: If you stay out in this cold, you both will catch fever, there is a barn nearby, the temple, why don’t you both stay there, until this rain stops….

Riddhima’s pov: Staying with him, where there is no one, is more dangerous!

Vansh: Actually, that’s a good idea, can you lead the way?

Riddhima: NO! Actually, we are fine here!

Vansh: Riddhima! Look around, Rain is pouring down heavily! It will take some time, and i have a sinus problem, a little change in the weather, can…

Riddhima: I know what sinus is!

Vansh: Then let’s go!
