Twinkle looked at herself, she felt uneasy watching that elegant peach frock draped around her. What she seriously doing what she was about to do?
“No…no….this will only hurt three lives.”, her heart screamed.
“not if, you keep mum about it.” Her heart countered.
She sighed, drank a entire glass of water in a single gulp. After a little touch up on her make up, she came out of her room. Her brother, was surprised to find her dress up little more elegantly.
“Is the theme, wedding today?” he teased her, hinting at her heavy partyholic nature.
She sighed. She wasn’t in mood for this. Her heart felt heavy but yet she could say it out loud. Not because her brother, won’t bother about it. But because, what the point was….she was in a one sided relation and she realized it.
Her brother waved his hands in front of her eyes, trying to wake her up from the dream she was in with her eyes open.

She sighed, “bhai, its reunion party today.”
He smiled, “so why sighing…it’s party day be happy”
“Bhai actually Kunj will propose his girlfriend today in front of all”, she replied without any emotions
“Niya, he met her at the medical school.” she added

He smiled, turning his attention to the television, “okay…enjoy….and yeah, don’t try coming all by your self. I know, you’ll be tipsy. Get somebody to drop, or call me.”

She gets miffed with his words, she drank…so what? He was speaking as he didn’t. If she gets tipsy a couple of drinks earlier than him then how is that her fault.

“shut up.” She snapped, moving out of the house.
He turned around to look at her disappearing figure. “Now what happened to this girl?” he wondered.

Twinkle sat in her car, she desperately wanted to vanish from this world but couldn’t as her best friend, Kunj has asked her to strictly attend the party so that he would propose his girlfriend in his bestie’s presence.

“What will he say…what? I can always make excuses, will tell him, that I wasn’t well.” She reasoned.

She instantly cursed herself for such thoughts. This situation was something, she should have thought about before getting ready, but then it wasn’t her fault after all she can’t hurt her lover as he was head over heels in love with him.
She drove on while her mind was replaying all their memories. Everything that happened over the last 10 years..yes, she knew Kunj since last 10 years.

But realized that she fell in love with him only two years ago. She smiled a sad one, remembering how she initially ignored the feeling thinking it to be some sort of a stage or temporary attraction or maybe infatuation. But then she realized it was love! True love!
But she was late…the day, when she decided to disclose her feeling…but before she was able to she got the shock of her life. Kunj rushed to her cheerfully, telling her that he’s in love with the love of his life.

Twinkle felt an earthquake inside her within a single second. She realised that she had lost him, her love all in a matter of two hours. How difficult it had become since, to control her feelings in front of him. She even tried to reduce the time she spend with him. But he never let go…..she felt tears forming in her eyes as she remembered his favourite dialogue, “will never ever leave your hand jaana!”

She couldn’t even blame him.. what was his mistake, he wasn’t even aware of her love. It was a strictly one sided thing. And watching Kunj getting his happiness in Niya. She was even more determined to let things remained the way they were.
She, at any point never realized that it was going to be as difficult as it was….until the day, he came to her house, with him. Looking at his fingers, entangled with Niya’s in midst of the hearts, she lost it. She lost all the control she had. The dam she had build to store her emotions broke. She cried and cried that night….all alone sobbing into her pillow. She cursed her fate, she didn’t even have any best friend other than Kunj with whom she can share her pain or can tell her miseries through which she was going every single minute and could shout that Kunj is the reason for her tears….her longings.

Twinkle stopped the car abruptly. She looked at her face In the rearview mirror. “you can’t break down today, just one more day….and you’ll forever be free of this unnecessary burden, today he’ll confess his feelings by exchanging the ring.” She tried to convinced herself. But guess, destiny had different plans.

She sighed and drove reaching the venue. She got down, handing her car keys to the valet. As soon as, she turned around. She was engulfed in a bear hug. She didn’t need to look at the person’s face. His scent itself, tingled her senses. She knew this was place she wanted so desperately to be in…..yet she knew she could never have it.

She pushed out of the hug. Kunj had an injured look on his face. She covered up, she dragged him inside…holding his sleeve, “what were you doing outside….behave man, if Niya would’ve seen it, don’t forget Mr, you’re committed now”

“no actually I was waiting for you.” he cleared
Suddenly, Niya came rushing towards them. She gave a arm hug to Twinkle.
“Twinkle, you only tell this man that stop doing drama. You know what he did…..he looked around and then stopped his confession in mid. Marching outside, he said, he wouldn’t say I love you until you come. Stupid boy….only you can handle his behaviour…” saying so she slapped his cheek lightly before leaving the place.
Twinkle grabbed his sleeve again, and marched him to the central stage, “now that I am here, lets get you confess.” She said. Her heart breaking into millions of pieces as she said all those words. Her heart cursing her.

She stood like a mute visitor, at the corner. She didn’t say a word, or looked at anyone because she wasn’t having any energy to face her friends, who were smiling at the sweet proposal which was going to start soon. She didn’t even respond Kunj’s gaze. All her energy was getting used up in holding back her tears.
Kunj extended his arm to hold Niya’s hand, his loving glance was killing her, and that was it for her, she couldn’t tolerate more so she slipped out quietly. She ran towards the ground floor which was almost empty and let her unshed tears to flow like river.

After a while, she felt strong arms around her waist and a chin resting on her shoulder. She instantly tried to turn around but the grip was unshakably strong. She struggled.
“Twinkle…”
And all her world stopped at the word, she froze..
“stop struggling.”, he said.
His words brought her back to earth.
He gently twisted her around in his arms to make her face him. She tried to push him away, before she looses herself at their proximity.

“what are you doing…..and why the hell do you keep running around. What is so hard to understand that you should be with her and only thing expected of you, you’re here?” she said in one go.

“You’re really strong Twinkle… so even today, you won’t open your mouth…you realize naa that, once I go through with this confession, it wont even matter if you confess or you don’t. you’ll lose me forever because I’m really strong when it comes to commitments”

“You knew all along?”, her eyes widened
“I ain’t your namesake best friend, I realized before you did”, he smiled
Twinkle started hitting his chest, “then why did you do this drama? Why you proposed her?”
“correction, was about to propose….but I didn’t propose her yet.” he said mischievously as he tried to catch hold of her wrists.
“then why all this?” she asked.
“oh my God girl, you ask a lot of questions…okay…okay, this was all to make you confess.”
She stomped on his foot hard, “Idiot…you could have simply came and told me that you loved me, and problem solved.”
“correction, I never said that I loved you….all I said was that I knew you loved me.”, he said, all seriously on the exterior but interiorly he was laughing looking at her expressions
Kunj felt a couple of tears fall on his blazer. Twinkle pulled away from his grip. She turned around and started walking. Kunj instantly went alert, he wanted to tease her but he ended up hurting her. He was cursing his sense of humor badly.

She was instantly pulled back and her head hit his strong chest.
“Twinkle….Twinkle….I am sorry….I was just teasing you…I love you, more than my life….in fact I loved you even before you realized your love for me.”, wrapping his arms around her
“And what about Niya?”, she asked with her eyes closed, leaning on him, caged in his arms.
Kunj took a second to respond, “ummm, yeah….she is hot, no?”
He instantly got a hot light slap on his face.
Twinkle pointed her finger at him, “don’t you dare, think about any other girl Mr. Sarna. I won’t leave you….either you are mine or nobody else’s..”

“Says the girl who was forcing me to confess my love to Niya.” he mocked, he grabbed her waist and softly pulled her towards him. “and yeah jaana…don’t you ever hit me again…. because you know, if I do, my style is kind of different.”, leaning towards her
She pushed him while letting a chuckle out, “you’re shameless.. but still my question is unanswered”
“Oh God, Niya is Yuvi’s girlfriend my love”, holding her wrist lovingly
“Really”, she snorted “he didn’t tell me”
“Because it was all our plan”, he smiled widely
“You all are dead, I swear”, she glared

“Later….first come with me I’ll propose you in front of all at this reunion party”
Saying so he engulfing her in side hug moved towards the party place where all were impatiently waiting for their confession.
