Meera stood outside Dharam’s room and banged on the door….

Meera:Dharamji….Dharamji….Dharamji, I always wanted u to come back to me???….I wanted u to be alive??….I don’t hate u!…Dharamji, open this door????…..

Dharam sat on the couch and ignored the banging sound that Meera was creating….

Outside

Meera:Dharamji- PLEASE!…Listen to me, I LOVE U!!!…

Eventually she left….

Dharam felt peaceful?….He began comparing the home coming, he was expecting and the 1 he finally got?….He tried to forget the last 2 hours of his life….

After Sometime

Naiya comes there and knocks on the door….

Naiya:Bhai,Bhai…

A sleepy Dharam, eventually opened it…

Naiya:Bhai u know where is Bhabhi???…She missed Medha’s feeding and I am starting to get worried??….
Dharam:What?!…Chotti, she must be somewhere in the house….
Naiya:I looked Bhai, she is nowhere?…
Dharam:U take care of Medha, I will find Meera…

Naiya hands him his jacket….

Naiya:Bhai, it’s 2 degrees outside….
Dharam:Are u sure, she is not in the house???…
Naiya:I double checked Bhai….

The ranch was a huge piece of property….Dharam decided to scan the perimeter of the grounds, before searching anywhere else….He eventually saw a tiny Meera, standing at the edge of the dam, miles away; at the end of the land…

The frosty winds were howling; as if a tropical storm was about to hit….

Dharam:MEERA!!!!!….

A bolt of lightning⚡ cracked through the skies, followed by a roaring thunder….But all this went unnoticed by Meera….She was too busy having a silent conversation, with her own reflection, in the dam’s water….

Reflex Meera:What has happened to u, Meera??…Everyday u cried for Dharamji to return?,and now that he is back; CAN’T U JUST BE HAPPY???…Why u arguing with him???…Why are u digging up those skeletons, that should remain buried????….Is Dharamji right, do u hate him for NOT DYING; when u thought he did??…

Meera:Nooo??…

Meera covered her ears with her palms….Hot tears flowed from her shut eyes???….

Another thunderous blast sounded, and a cloud burst….Torrents of rain started to pour???????, while Dharam continued to run? towards Meera….

Meera(In her mind):No this can’t go on….DHARAMJI IS BACK WITH ME!…I AM HAPPY ☺!…I’m overjoyed that we are getting a second chance together….ALL that happened in the past, will remain IN THE PAST?!…I LOVE DHARAMJI, and….

She stopped as she saw Dharam’s reflection in the water….She knew he was standing behind her….

Meera was soaked to the bone, her clothes stuck to her body like a second skin….She could see Dharam removing his jacket, to put over her….After what happened earlier, she didn’t had the guts to face him, but she did say: Dharamji, hold me!…

Khud ko main dhundun
Aankhon ke darmiyan

Slowly, he encircled his arms around her waist and back hugged her??….

She leaned on his chest….The warmth of his body made her feel secure???….While the rain droplets fell on them????…..

Dharam let out a small smile before kissing her on the side of her head?…..

Meera turns around to face him….DheEra looks at each other passionately???….

Meera:Tell me Dharamji,what would have happened if “ Virendra” was the third person; and u only came back when he became a permanent fixture in my life??…

Meera:A lot has changed in the last year….
Dharam:Yeah, U HAVE changed?….
Meera:No!…I just grew up because my “ PROTECTOR” wasn’t around anymore!…

Suddenly, they heard someone coughing….They gets alerted and looks in that direction….They sees Naiya standing there, looking sternly towards them….

Dharam:Chotti isn’t it past ur bed time???….
Naiya:How do u expect me to sleep, when u 2 are out, galavanting in the cold?…Now both of u GET INSIDE?!…

Dharam twisted Naiya’s ear….

Dharam:Bade Bhai se aise baat karte Hain??…
Naiya:Sorry Bhai….

Inside…

Dharam:Meeru get out of this wet clothes before u catch cold?….

Meera agreed and went to take a hot shower….

Dharam:Chotti, where are Mom and Dad???…
Naiya:They left a few hours ago….It was something urgent….
Dharam:They left and didn’t tell us?….
Naiya:U and Bhabhi were….They didn’t wanted to interrupt….
Dharam:Hmm…But I wonder what was so urgent??…
Naiya:U too change this wet clothes?…

Dharam nodded….

After Sometime

DheEra goes to the nursery….They sees Medha sleeping….

Dharam:Meeru she just sleeps like u; with her mouth slightly open☺….

Meera smiled as she recalled her dream regarding this?….

Medha opened her eyes to see 2 people watching her with immense admiration…Meera immediately swooped her up and carried her in her arms….

Meera:Hi princess….

Meera turned to pass the child to Dharam….

Dharam:Meeru I don’t think it’s a good idea?….

Meera anyhow handed Medha to him….As Dharam carried Medha, father and daughter had the same look of fright on their faces….

Meera:Baby, he is ur Dad?….Ur Dad loves u a lot?….He wants to talk to u….Play with u….Won’t u let him play with u??…

Medha remained quiet, but she was clear not comfortable in Dharam’s arms; and he read her expression well….

Dharam:Meeru take her….

He passed Medha to Meera….

Dharam:She needs some time to get used to me….

He kissed Medha on the back of her head? and left….

In DheEra’s room

Dharam stared out into the night skies, his mind was still lingering on a question Meera asked earlier….

Just then, Meera comes and back hugged him….He pulled her in front….

Dharam:Irada kya hai, Meeru??….

She encircled her arms around his neck….

Meera:Irada ye….ACHOOO?!…
Dharam:Meeru looks like u did catch a cold….I think I will….
Meera:Dharamji u promised to stay with me in SICKNESS and in health!…

Dharam hugs her….

Dharam:I was just teasing u??….

He tucked her into bed and crept in beside her….She cuddled into him, relishing in his warmth??….It wasn’t long before she fell asleep, with her head on his chest….
