Chapter 36
Jealousy and Possesiveness !!

Naira turned to Karthik and saw him staring at Gayu with a strange emotion in his eyes that she hasn’t seen till now. Gayu too locked her eyes with Karthik’s and her gaze was filled with love and guilt.

Naira’s presence didn’t seem to affect either Karthik or Gayu and it was like a knife twisting in her heart. Both Karthik and Gayu were so involved in reading each others eyes that they didn’t even realise that Naira was standing right beside Karthik.

She immediately moved closer to Karthik and held his hand, interwining their fingers together. Karthik came to his senses and turned to Naira with an expression less face. Naira tightened her grip on his hand, in fear of loosing him though the whole emotion was very strange and new to her.

Naksh and Keerti reached where they were standing and the four of them sat on the table opposite to where Gayu was sitting. Naksh and Keerti sat on one side while Naira and Karthik sat opposite to them.

“So Naira, What did you buy for papa ?!!” Naksh asked and frowned seeing Naira tensed and occasionally looking at the other table where Gayatri was seated.

Keerti also observed it. She then placed her palm on Naira’s hand. Karthik was in some other world, un affected by what was happening at the table. His gaze was only fixed on Gayatri.

“What happened ?!! Is something wrong ?!!” Keerti asked Naira.

“Huh…um..nothing.” Naira replied still looking lost.

Though Keerti knew that something was wrong, she kept quiet for time being. She didn’t want to make Naira uncomfortable with all her pestering. Naksh was also about to ask the same to his sister but Keerti told him not to by her eyes.

Naksh and Keerti kept on blabbering about something but neither Karthik nor Naira were intrested in it. Karthik was still so lost in Gayatri while Naira was feeling very uneasy by how Karthik was reacting to Gayu’s presence.

Suddenly, Karthik choked on his food as he was un attentive towards eating. Naira immediately rubbed his back with one hand and gave a glass of water with another. She looked at him totally concerned.

From the corner of her eye, Naira observed Gayatri flinching when she took care of Karthik. Naira was sort of satisfied, but it didn’t last too long. Much to her surprise, Karthik shifted in his seat giving a clear message for Naira to back off.

Naira backed off immediately and was offended. Tears came to her eyes. Her husband is only hers now and the thought that he is still liking someone else was paining her, a lot.

She had realised a few days ago, that she liked Karthik. But Naira didnt know that its intensity was so deep. It was now that she came to know, that it was not ‘like’ but ‘love’ that she had towards Karthik.

Naira smiled a faint smile but her hands were becoming sweaty by every passing second. Karthik was looking at Gayu the way he must look at her. That love filled gaze was irritating Naira a lot.

Karthik had never looked at Naira so passionately and lovingly. Naira wanted that gaze to be reserved only for her. She didnt like the way he was looking at Gayu.

“Naira, taste this ice cream.” Keerti chirped leaning towards Naira with a spoonfull of ice cream.

Naira abruptly shifted in her seat and the ice cream fell on her dress.

“I am so sorry.” Keerti said with a frown on her face.

Naira tried to clean the stain on her dress with some tissues but what irritated her was absence of Karthik’s attention towards her.

Naksh excused himself to attend a call on his phone, while Keerti was busy eating her ice cream. As Naira wipped the stain with the tissue, she realised that it was only getting darker.

“I need to use the restroom.” She snapped and went to the washroom. Karthik looked at her blankly for a second but then again shifted his gaze back at Gayatri.

Naira walked away as she could not take it anymore. She reached the washroom and closed the door. As soon as she closed the door, she collapsed on her knees. Crying and howling pretty badly. Tears seemed to not end as her heart was in pain.

Ohkay so firstly, I am sorry for being unactive all these days. My orals and submissions have started leaving me no time to update this FF. Also I have my exams from next week, which makes it even worse.

But here is an update for all of you. Will try to post next Chapter soon. But can’t promise when. I have read all the comments on the previous Chapter but didn’t get time to reply. Hope you all understand.
