Chapter 30
The pressure of good parenting !!

Keerti slept on her side of bed after taking medicines. Usually she will be happy thinking about her child but Naksh’s silence since the last two days is killing her and moreover he is not letting his pain out.

She closed her eyes when she felt someone opening the door. Naksh entered the room and saw Keerti sleeping peacefully. A sad smile came to his face seeing her.

She has been with him in the most important phase of his life. He is also sure that she will understand him even now, but he is afraid to share his worries with her. He doesn’t want her to be tensed, especially in this condition.

Sighing heavily, he climbed on the bed and nuzzled her neck wrapping his right hand around her, drawing comforting circles on her shoulder. This was his home. Her embrace.

“Naksh.” Keerti purred in her sleep.

“You didn’t sleep ?!!” Naksh asked her.

“No. What is bothering you ?!!” Keerti asked, reading her husband’s mind.

Naksh sighed and cuddled himself more into her embrace. He was still not sure whether he should share this with her or not.

“Naksh, please share your worries with me.” Keerti turned to his side and cupped his face.

“Two days back, papa had called me and said that he was proud of me. I am such way because he brought me up with so much love and care. But…” Naksh trailed off and burried his head deep into her neck inhaling her scent. Keerti was more worried now.

“But what ?!!” She asked, encouraging him to tell her the whole thing.

Naksh balanced himself on his left elbow and raised his head to look at her. He then caressed her baby bump with his right hand, his lips were pressed in a thin line.

“I am not sure whether I will be able to give those values to my child as my dad did for me. What if I can not be the perfect dad ?!!” Naksh expressed.

Keerti smiled at him and placed her palm on his.

“No one is perfect Naksh. But don’t worry, you will be the best dad to our child. Do you think I would let you be any lesser than best ?!!” Keerti assured him.

“I seriously wish but..” Naksh started to say but Keerti cut him off.

“No buts Naksh. Don’t over think about it. Even I am nervous but we will see when the time comes. Now cheer up. You never look good when your mood is off.” Keerti said and pushed the corner of his lips in a smile with her fingers.

Karthik streched his body as he woke up but his eyes searched for Naira. Disappointment filled him when he registered her absence and without wasting a minute, he went to washroom to get fresh.

After more than an hour long shower, he came out dressed in a T- shirt and casual trousers. He once again glanced around the room for Naira, she was not there. But something else got his attention.

He walked to the bedside table and saw a bowl full of Gajar ka Halwa. The word ‘Sorry’ was written on it with almonds and cashews. So this was his beloved wife’s way of apologising.

Karthik smriked and turned around to see Naira standing at the entrance of their Bedroom.

“Accept my apology, please.” She pleaded him with puppy dog eyes.

Karthik stared at her with a smile playing on his lips.

I really can’t believe that the weekend is over and its Monday again. I am soo tired and all I want to do is sleep today. Anyway, that’s not going to happen.

This is the 30th Chapter of this FF. Another Milestone for Another one of my FF. All thanks to you peeps. It has been made possible only because of you all.

Also the next Chapter will have Karthik realising his love for Naira and also forgiving her. So stay tunned.
