Chapter 28
Jab Naira met Gayu !!

Naira smiled victouriosly and rubbed her palms before ringing the door bell of the address she wished to come at. A lady in mid twenties wearing shorts and a crop top opened the door.

“Gayatri ?!!” Naira asked.

“Yeah !! But sorry I didn’t recognise you.” Gayu said confusion written on her face.

Naira forwarded her hand with a smile and said, “I am Naira. Mrs. Naira Karthik Goenka.”

The colour on Gayu’s face changed but she masked it with a perfect smile.

“Please come in.” She said and moved away from the door.

Naira stepped into her house and and sat on the sofa infront of Gayatri.

“So, you want to know about us ?!!” Gayu asked with a smirk playing at her lips.

“Not ‘us’ but about you and him.” Naira answered smugly. Somehow, Gayatri mentioning Karthik and her as ‘us’ pained Naira.

Gayu raised her eyebrow at Naira’s words. Naira had already prepared herself for worst. She needed to know if Gayu still had feelings for Karthik and whether she wanted him back. She wanted a closure on his past.

Only then will she be able to give their marraige a chance. Naira for sure knew that Karthik didn’t love Gayatri. But he was still pretty much upset over what she did to him.

‘You see, I am a very modern girl and Karthik is not my type of guy.” Gayu said. Naira frowned.

“Yeah, it’s true that we both loved each other but it was after engagement, I started feeling that he is not right for me.” Gayu said.

“But as far as I know him, he never intruded into anyone’s privacy.” Naira said and Gayu almost laughed at her words.

“I never said that he didn’t give me any privacy. It’s just that we are not made for each other. His family is contrast to my thoughts. I just cannot adjust with them.” Gayu said further.

“Sorry to say but the reason is so silly. Every relationship is based on compromise. You can not expect every wish of yours to be fulfilled. ” Naira said.

“I am not ready for compromise. I want a person who accepts me the way I am and not by compromising his or my needs. ” Gayu said irritated but strongly.

The confidence in her voice made Naira numb. What was she supposed to say to that ?!! A servant came out from nowhere and served them tea.

“Then why did you even get married to him. You had called off the wedding after the engagement, right ?!! But then you agreed to get married to him.” Naira asked.

“I informed them that I don’t want to get married but his brother came along with his wife. They tried to convince me but I still didn’t agree. My father on the other hand assured them that he will convince me. Afterwards, my dad explained that canceling the marriage a day before, would ruin our pride. He told me to divorce Karthik if I face any problen after marraige.” Gayatri spoke.

“Then why did you slap him on the wedding night ?!!” Naira asked and Gayu sighed.

“Well, I was so irritated seeing him. Just tell me, how would you feel when you enter the room of your so called husband whom you married aganist your wish.” Gayu asked and Naira gulped. She pressed her lips in thin line.

“I did the thing which I felt right and moreover, his family was so traditional. I need a family who accepts me as I am.” Gayu said.

“I accept every explanation of your’s but why did you made him sign the divorce papers by manipulating him ?!!” Naira asked.

“Because he is stubborn, he didn’t wanted to divorce me and I didn’t want to live my life with someone I loathe.” Gayu argued.

“Sorry to ask you but what if the one whom you choose turns out to be imperfect ?!!” Naira smirked and asked. Gayu opened her mouth and closed it again by lack of words.

“So you are saying that I am wrong ?!!” Gayu asked completely annoyed.

“Not exactly but comprise is a key for any relationship. You don’t always get what you want but you need to stay happy with what you have. Sadly you will never understand it.” Naira said.

“May be you are correct but Karthik is not the guy for me.” Gayu said.

“It’s because you never tried to understand him. You just felt that you loved him but in reality, you lusted him. You know, a pure attraction.” Naira said.

“And how can you be so sure about it ?!!” Gayu asked with red eyes.

“Because when you love someone, you accept them even with their imperfections. You don’t give up on the ones you love, infact you stay with them doesn’t matter how wrong things are.” Naira said.

“Thanks for your advise but you may leave now.” Gayu said completely annoyed.

Naira stood up smriking and said, “I wish that you will find the real meaning of a relationship, soon.”

Gayu angled her head towards the entrance signalling Naira to leave.

Naira got out of the house with a smile on her face. One thing that she realised from this whole ordeal was that she had started loving Karthik.

She knew it was a long road but she had just taken her first step towards him.

So this is what happens when Naira meets Gayu. Hope you liked how Naira made her stand in front of Gayu.

Also I won’t be able to post any Chapter on Sunday as I am going to attend my school’s reunion party. As its friendship day, all my school buddies have arranged for a day out. I will be meeting them after 2 years so I would be busy the whole day. But still I will try to update atleast one Chapter.
