“Avni I have told u thousands of times that don’t take his name in front me but u remain unruffled. It was ur bday that is why I wasn’t saying u anything. You really want to know na that who ur father is, lemme tell u his originality”, said Asha.

Saying so, she clutched at lil Avni’s hand and took her dragging to the east of the house. Avni had always wanted to know that what really was in that corner of the house that her mother never let her go to that side. Asha opened the door of the room which had always remained closed. Little Avni was left aghast as soon as she saw the door open. On the entrance of the room, there was a huge picture of her mum and a man being married; probably her dad. Avni looked at her mother with an innocent face. Her mother first saw the pic with her eyes wide open in rage and then turned to Avni and said, “Are u seeing this man? He is ur father. That father who never accepted u as his daughter, that father who left u and me in our poverty days to languish, he is that father who never gave any respect to my and his marriage…he is dead for me (turning weak and weeping eyes). He is ur father, Avni, he is ur father.”

And saying so, she sat on the floor on the knees and began crying. Lil Avni was left in trauma, she was totally confused at this site and side of her mum, as she had never witnessed it b4. She had only seen the strong side of her mother which never wept come whatever may! Suddenly Asha realized that she had done a blunder by disclosing the truth so soon to her daughter……TO BE CONTINUED……
