Chapter 17

Recap: sanskaar bonds with ansh….

After few weeks, at MM ap and ragini are sitting and doing some work…. Sanskaar Comes there with a sweet box. He bends down to take blessings from ap.. And gives them sweets….

Ragini: arre sanskyy…. Y these sweets??

Ap: wht good news do u hv beta??

Sanskaar: aunty finally I hv decided to settle in India and I hv brought a home also…

Ap + Rag: wow… Congratulations!!!!!

Sanskaar: bas congrats se kaam nhi chalega… U all hv to come tomorrow… Ma has kept Pooja for grah pravesh….

Ap: sure beta we’ll come….

Ap goes from there as dp calls him.

Ragini: So aunty uncle are also back….

Sanskaar: yeah n they want to meet u asap….

Ragini: don’t worry I’ll meet them tomorrow….

Sanskaar: alright…. Where is champ?? School??

Ragini ( sad ): no sanskyy… Dekho na he’s not going to school from last one month…

Sanskaar: but y??

Ragini: earlier he used to go but then at ptms and annual days when he doesn’t see his buddy he becomes really upset… And then earlier lucky used to drop him at school and now…….

Sanskaar: now he’ll again go to school….

Ragini: but….

Sanskaar: common ginni…. When I can change ur decision… Urs who’s the biggest stubborn person in the world then I can handle ur son also…. Now don’t worry… I’ll just come…..

He pinched her nose and went to ansh’s room. Adarsh who came for some work gritted his teeth. He thinks that he’s just doing this for money…… He goes from there and calls someone…..

Sanskaar Comes to ansh’s room and sees him sitting ideally on the bed and trying to complete the rubiks cube!

Sanskaar: hey champ….

ANSH turns and finds sanskaar standing there. He gave a weak smile And again turned his face. Sanskaar, confused went and sat beside him.

Sanskaar: any problem??

Ansh looks at him, nods and again got busy with his cube. sanskaar tried to talk to him but of no use. He sighed and looked at the door where ragini was standing. Sanskaar signed her to come in. Ragini came n sat beside ansh and hugged him.

Ragini: kya hua mele bacche ko??

Ansh ( digging his face in her neck ): dekho na mumma… I’m not able to complete it…. ( he showed the cube )… Pehle toh buddy used to do it….

Sanskaar: earlier ur buddy used to do it… Now ur sanskyy will do it??

Ansh: do u know how to do it??

Sanskaar nods. Ansh happily goes and sits in his lap. He gives him the cube and sanskaar solves it in less than a minute.

Ansh: wow… U r so smart like my buddy…. Dekho mumma he did it…. But y didn’t u told me before??

Sanskaar: I was trying to talk to u but u were not listening to me also…..

He pouts. Ansh looks at ragini who was seeing the new friends cute fight. Ansh kisses sanskaar’s cheek. Sanskaar’s looked at him shocked.

Ansh ( holding his ears cutely ): sorry sanskyy…..

Sanskaar smiles and hugs him. Ragini too smiles.

Ragini: ansh… y r u calling him by his name?? U shld respect elders!!

Sanskaar amd ansh look at each other and then at ragini.

SanAnsh: mumma take a chill pill….

Ragini widens her eyes and pouts. ansh goes and sits on her lap.

Ansh: mumma he’s my friend so I can call him by his name… N he also don’t hv any problem… Right sanskyy??

Sanskaar: right champ!!!

They hi five.

Ragini: okay baba…. Now u both play i’ll go n see papa…

SanAnsh nods and she is abt to go but ansh holds her hand and gives her a kiss on her cheek. Ragini smiles and shee too kisses him. This all is seen by dp who goes when ragini is abt to come out…

Sanskaar: acha champ… U didn’t told me in which class u r??

Ansh’s face fell and he went to the balcony and stood there with a pale face. Sanskaar sighs and went behind him.

Sanskaar: wht happened champ??

Ansh: now I don’t go to school….

Sanskaar: wht?? But y champ?? U know na its very important to go to school…

ANSH: I know… Buddy also use to say this…

Sanskaar: ur buddy was right champ… U want to become like ur buddy na then u shld go to school….

ANSH hugs sanskaar’s legs as hot tear flow down from his cheek. Sanskaar gets worried and bends down to his level. He takes out his specs and wipes his tears. Ansh hugs him and cries.

Whatever anyone says but only he knew how much he misses his buddy. He never says anything to anyone coz he know everyone misses buddy but with sanskaar he felt a different connection. In few days only sanskaar was able to make a special place in his heart.

Sanskaar caresses his hair and tried to calm him down. He picked him up and took him to the room. He made him sit and drink water. Ansh calmed down a bit.

Sanskaar: champ……

ANSH: I miss my buddy sanskyy….. I can’t tell this to mumma coz she’ll cry then…. ( sanskaar has tears in his eyes ) everyday buddy used to drop me at school but now no one comes… .. My friends… They always come with their buddys but I……..

He burst out crying. Sanskaar hugs him as his eyes too becomes moist. Sanskaar pats his back and makes him calm. He breaks the hug and sees he has already slept. He makes him sleep on the bed and wipes his tears…. (( children usually sleeps while crying.. Ik as I hv experienced it!!!))

Sanskaar ; champ… I can’t promise to bring back ur buddy but I promise u that now u won’t be alone… Ur sanskyy will be there with you… Always……

He kisses his forehead and goes out. He comes to ragini. Ragini looks at him and gets up from her bed.

Ragini: ansh…..

Sanskaar: ginni…. ( he takes a deep breath ) Don’t worry…. ANSH will go to school…. I promise….

Ragini: but sanskyy….

Sanskaar: I promise ginni….. Now u don’t take much tension…. Relax okay??

Ragini nods.

Sanskaar: take care…. I’ll meet u tomorrow….

Ragini nods and he goes from there. Ragini looks at his retreating figure………

Ragini: sanskyy….. U r like an angel to my family…. Thank u for being there….. .

Next day at sanskaar’s new house. Ram, sujata and sanskaar are already there. Shekhar and shomi comes. They hug each other.

Shekhar: where did u all went leaving us alone??

Rp: sorry shekhar….

He hugs him. Shomi and sujata too hugged each other. ap and dp comes with ansh. Ansh jumps on sanskaar as he lifts him up in his arms.

Sanskaar: hey champ!!!!

Ansh: sanskyy… Where did u went yesterday??

Sanskaar: voh I had some work na… Don’t worry now i’ll never leave u… Umm… Mom dad… He’s ansh.. Ragini’s and laksh’s son!!

Rp amd sujata blesses him. Sanskaar takes Ap’s and dp’s blessings. He goes at the gate and sees ragini in a beautiful pink suit. She was indeed looking beautiful but her real smile was missing. The spark of her eyes was missing. Sanskaar welcomed her.

Ragini: sanskyy… I hv brought all my paintings for ur new house…

Sanskaar: thank you ginni…. Come…..

Dp, rp and shekhar went to the lawn and shomi ap and sujata went to see the arrangements of the Pooja.

The pooja was Completed successfully. Ragini showed him her paintings.

Ragini:…… N this is my last painting…

She showed her the painting of the woman. Sanskaar looked at the beautiful painting.

Sanskaar: beautiful…

Ragini who was sitting at his back smiled.

Sanskaar: but something is missing??

Ragini looks on confused.

Sanskaar smiled.

Sanskaar: don’t worry… I’ll Complete it….

He takes the vermillion from the pooja thali and fills the hairline of the girl in the painting. Ragini looks at him shocked.

Sanskaar ( turning back ): now its completed… Right???

He turns back to find ragini missing. He sighs.

Ragini barges In her room and closes the door. She breathes heavily.

Ragini: no…. I hope sanskyy is not thinking something like that….. No…..

She cries. Her head starts paining. She takes medicine and soon drifts into a peaceful sleep.

Dp: beta where is ginni??

Sanskaar: actually she has gone home…

Ap: everything is fine na beta??

Sanskaar: ji aunty…. Uncle tomorrow is my first concert in India… I would love if u all will come…..

Dp: of course we all will come…….

Sanskaar :” N there is one more good news for u all….

All: wht??

Sanskaar: from tomorrow ansh will again start going to school…

Ap: wht but….

Sanskaar : I know aunty … But don’t worry I hv explained him n he has promised that he’ll go to school…..

Dp: but it was not easy to convince him.. Then how did u??

Sanskaar: uncle he didn’t had any problem with the school… Its just that he missed his buddy so… I’m sorry if I’m going to hurt u… But I hv promised him that I’ll tale him to the school every day like his buddy… So he agreed….

All hv happy tears in their eyes except ______…..

Ap: thank you beta… I don’t know how i’ll repay ur debt…

Sanskaar: common aunty… I’m not doing any favour on u…. I think it’s my duty….

Dp pats his shoulder and says thank you. Sanskaar smiles.

After sometime everyone leaves…….

At night. Ap and DP are sitting outside in the lawn. Ragini comes there with tea.

Ragini: papa… Ur tea….

Dp S arre beta… How do u know wht I need.. And when??

Ragini: I’m ur daughter na… Daughters know everything…

Dp and ap smiles and blesses her. She turns to go.

Dp: arre beta tomorrow is sanskaar’s first concert in India n he has invited us…

Ragini ( Without turning ): papa u shld go I won’t be able to come….

Ap: beta.. He’s ur childhood friend n u shld go otherwise he’ll feel bad….

Ragini: ma… U know na ansh doesn’t stay alone at night.. Not even with omi bhaiya….

Ap: he stays with me na… U don’t worry I’ll stay back with ansh… U n ur papa shld go…

Ragini nods and goes from there.

Next morning. Dp calls sanskaar.

Sanskaar ( putting his belt ): namaste uncle…

Dp: namaste beta… U know na wht to do??

Sanskaar: ya ya uncle don’t worry…..

Ansh comes in Ragini’s room in school uniform. Ragini looks at him surprised and happy.

Ragini: ansh….

ANSH: mumma come lets go… I’m getting late….

Ragini nods through her tears and they both go to school. Outside the school. They reach there. Ragini waves bye to ansh and laksh and they give her a flying kiss. She too kiss them back….

” mumma ” ansh pulled her dupatta. Ragini looks at him and then at the same direction where a boy and his father were standing. Her eyes got moist.

Ansh: hey sanskyy……

He shouts. Ragini looks at the side and finds sanskaar there. They both hi five…. Ragini smiles.

Sanskaar: shall v champ??

He forwards his hand. Ansh smiles and keeps his small palm on his big one. They both smile and moves towards the school. They turn back and waves bye to ragini who in turn does the same. Ansh gives her. A flying kiss and they both goes inside.

Ragini ( monologue ): thank you sanskyy for whtever u r doing for my son…. But…. I hope u r not thinking like that………

She looks on worried. The episode ends with worried face of ragini.
