Chapter 9

10 years later..

A beautiful girl is shown talking on a skype call and running all around a huge house. She is getting ready and talking to her friends too. She is wearing a beautiful knee length dress, with hair left as loose curls. She is running all around the house just to find her watch because she has to then run to her office. {It’s definitely our Naira}

“Bhai, ap tou iss ke paas humare liye time kahan hai? Ap yeh humari Naira thori hai, ab tou yeh The Naira Singhania hai, London ke sab se bari and famous anchor.” Chatted Veronica from skype.

“Aisa kuch nhi hai Veru! Mai aaj bhi wahi Naira hun. Tum logon ki Naira. Bas waqt ne kuch cheezain badal dee hain.” Replied Naira.

“Naira it’s been 10 years. 10 years you haven’t came back to India. Don’t you miss us, you’re family? Ab tou wapis ajaa.” Said Veronice

“Veru I have nothing to miss. I can talk to anybody from here, so why to come all the way to Udaipur.” Replied Naira

“Naira your past has gone back. Uss baat ko 10 years hogae hain. Ab tou shayad wo bhi agaye barh gaya hogaa. Tu bhi kuch soch Naira. Aise zindagi bhaar tou nhi beth sakte naa. Chupte chupate!!” Confronted Veronica.

These words hit Naira hard and what hurted her the most was when Gayu said from behind “Suna hai bohat bara business man hogaya hai wo. But bohat rude and ruthless sa. Kisi se bhi theeks e baat nhi karta.” This showed Naira that Naira’s absence had definitely changed Kartik.

“Acha guys! I’ll talk later. I have to leave. Bye” Naira ended the video call and left.

The scene shifts to a handsome man standing in front of his mirror wearing a tuxedo. When he turns we see it’s our Kartik, with a completely bossy attitude. He hurriedly comes down. His sister offers him breakfast but he denies and leaves. Looking at this his mom says,

“Manish Ji, Naira ke jaane ke baad Kartik bilkul badal gaya. Na kisi se baat karta hai na kuch karta hai. Bas kaam mai hee hota hai har waqt. 10 saalon mai uss ne 2 baar suicide attempts ke hain. Ap ko nhi lagta ap ne Naira ko bhej kar galat kia?”

But his dad did not reply anything and left. Even now he understood what he had done 10 years back was wrong.

Kartik drives to a different place other than office. He steps out a huge studio kind of a building. He enters inside and switches on the lights and there are thousands of pictures all around. All our Naira’s pictures. He touches each one with soft hands, with love filled eyes and says,

“10 saal hoagye hain Naira. Roz subah mai yaha atta hun, tumhare paas. Sab se pehle tum se baat karta hun. Ajj bhi mai ne tum se pyaar karna nhi chora. Tumhara pyar he hai jis ne mujhe zinda rakha hai. Mujhe ajj bhi tum par poora bharosa hai lekin zindagi mai ek baar tum se mil kar zaroor puchoonga keh aise kya majboori thi jis ke wajah se tumhe apne iss mendhak ko chor kar jana para.”

He stands up, wipes his tears and leaves.
