Chapter 2
The Friendship.

Naira gets down from her car. She is a very well know and deserving singer. She has came to the studio for an interview with a reporter of a news channel regarding the launch of her new album.

“Welcome to our show mam.” the reporter greets her.

“Thank you very much.” Naira said shaking hands with her.

“Ma’am the first song sung by you had hit the market and is an instant best selling. What are you feeling right now ?!!” the reporter asked her.

“I feel very happy and honored because people have appreciated my song.” Naira answered.

“Maa’am Congrats on winning the best youth icon award. Your song was inspiring yet it was about a love story that was left incomplete. Any special reasons for singing such song ?!!” The reporter asked.

“My own experience says that every love story don’t have a happy ending. The song is realted to my own story.” Naira answered and tried to stop her tears from rolling down her cheeks.

“Ma’am would you like to share your story with our viewers ?!!” The reporter asked and passed her a tissue.

“Ofcourse !!” Naira said smilingly even though tears ran down her cheeks.

5 YEARS BACK

It was the last year of Management batch. Naira was the college diva and had countless friends in her group. Among them Keerti was her best friend. Keerti had a very interesting personality. She had many admirers. But there was a person whom she admired, Naksh, her boy friend. They were the famous couple of their college.

Naira also had a headache in her friend circle, Karthik .At first she didn’t like him because she thought he was very dirty and flirty. He always messed up everything and she liked cleanliness. But as we know opposites attract, thus fate pulled them closer.

It was during the cultural festival when Naira and Karthik became friends.They both were sharing the dance stage together.He was the worst dancer she had ever seen in her life. She had to teach him each and every step for like 10 times but even then he wouldn’t get it right.

“Are you sure you want to dance with me ?!!” Karthik asked while adjusting his red T-shirt.

“Do you think I am joking ?!! Look at my face.” Karthik starred at her for five minutes and said “No. You are pretty serious.”

“This is not funny. We have to practice a lot. Very hard.” she said while slapping his hands which were about to hold hers.

“Sorry”he said.

“Its okay. Now concerntrate on dance”. She said arrogantly.

“Its happened accidentally” he said with an apologizing face.

“Mr.Karthik Goenka ,please focus on dance. We have only few days left.”. Naira said.

“Okay maam !! Let us go and dance.” He said sincerely.

After two hours of practice,they sank down on the floor, tired. Naira wipped her face and drank water.

“I am still thirsty.” She said indicating the empty bottle.

“Let us go to the cafeteria and have juice.” He said and gave her a hand to help her get up from the floor.

“You had a girlfriend for 2 years ?!! Unbelievable !!” She screamed.

“Yes !! in 12th. Not the serious one.” He said sipping his orange juice.

“But you stuck with one girl for 2 years ?!! I can’t believe it. By the way why did you broke up with her ?!!” She asked.

“Because she thought I loved her best friend.” He said.

“You loved her best friend too ?!!” She asked shocked.

“Do you think I could do that ?!!” He asked her seriously.

“Ofcourse yes.” She answered back.

“No !! I just liked her best friend !!” He said as a smirk played on his lips.

“You can never change. Do you love anyone now ?!!” She asked.

“Yes !!” He said looking deep into her eyes.

“Whom ?!!” She asked.

“You.” He said.

Naira’s heart started to beat fastly and loudly.These words took her in another time zone. She could hear a male voice saying “I love you very much Naira.Please trust me. I will die without you. My life is in your hands.” That boy was standing on the edge of the terrace.

Suddenly Karthik shaked her and Naira regained her senses.

“Where are you lost ?!!” He asked her.

“Nowhere.” She said.

“Don’t lie, You were thinking about the answer to my proposal, right ?!!” he asked her.

Naira kicked him hard. He laughed with pain and said “what are you doing ?!! I was just kidding.”

“I know. Don’t do it again otherwise you will get beaten up seriously.” she said.

As many of you might have guessed, Naira has a past in this story related to an obssesive lover. I have tried to add this plot which was present in the serial as well.
