The girl he never noticed (Chapter-14)

Naira’s Pov
After dancing our hearts out now finally came the turn of the so called birthday ritual
‘The Cake Cutting’
We all gathered around the cake. It was beautiful pearly white in appearance with ‘Happy Birthday Princess’ written on it
Wait …what? Princess?
Till now it was only my dad who called me ‘Princess’ and I missed him alot today
“Naira what are you waiting for?” Gayu Di said as she handed me the knife
I looked around to find Kartik standing along with Aryan busy with his phone calls and stuff
‘Well this man didn’t even have a minute to spare for me’ I thought
Yes I danced happily with all of them including him but that doesn’t mean that I was not angry with him
Well to be honest on seeing him sticked to his damn phone multiplied my anger several folds
He didn’t show up since morning and had not even wished me. Ridiculous!!
I cut the cake in anger but with a fake small smile for others and feed them
Everyone offered me the cake and so did he but being stubborn enough ignored him and went away

Kartik’s Pov
Damn this phone!
I couldn’t even enjoy her cake cutting but it was not in my hands as I had to make sure that everything was perfect and the surprise which I had planned for her was also prepared
My phone kept beeping and beeping as I gave instructions to what to do and not to do next
I could see her burning with anger but I too was helpless as I had vowed to make her birthday the bestest
I offered her a piece of cake which she ignored completely as if I was not existing there anymore
“Naira?” Gayu said to make her realise but I stopped her
“It’s ok Gayu” I said
Seeing her ignoring me hurt me alot
And I enable to take this anymore just went away from there controlling myself somehow

Naira’s Pov
“I guess we are late” a voice came from the front door
I turned around to find Ananya Di, Kuhu and Nannu standing there
I was bursting​ with happiness as I saw them standing there
For a second I thought was I watching a dream? Well no stupid it was reality standing in front of me
“Ananya Di!!” I shouted as I ran towards them and hugged them all tightly
“Happy Birthday!!” they said in unison as they hugged me tightly all together
“Di you guys here?” I said shocked and surprised
“Why? Okay we are leaving” she said but I grabbed her
“Noway!” I said
“I mean you also knew about this surprise party?” I continued
“Well not really until Kartik called us today in the morning” she said
I was shocked upon hearing the same ‘Kartik’
“What Kartik?” I asked
“Ya he called us and told us about this party and even booked our tickets for the same” She answered back
“What?” I asked
“Yes Naira! …It’s Kartik who has planned this party specially for you …. That guy was out since 4 in the morning struggling all alone to arrange all this just for you…I bet that he must have skipped his meals too…Why? Just to make this the best birthday of yours …And what you did? Ignored him like he is invisible!” Gayu Di said from behind in a stern and angry tone
I was filled with guilt inside out
Tears were brimming out of my eyes as I heard the truth
How could I?
He did all this just make me feel special on my birthday and blo*dy ignored him!
Not done Naira!
He had been running all day long to do all this and what he got in return? Anger and ignorance!
I didn’t think even for a second as I ran outside
I ran as fast as my legs could carry me and finally spotted him standing in the middle of the garden and instructing someone on the phone
He turned around to see me standing crying in guilt
“I’ll call you back later!” He said as he kept the phone back into his pocket
“Naira?” He said
But I didn’t think of anything else and just ran into his arms and hugged him to life
“I am sorry Kartik!…I am sorry..I didn’t know you did all this and was throwing tantrums on you…I am sorry and thank you so much for making my day so special …I know a simple thank you is not enough for what you did” I kept ranting and he didn’t utter even a single word rather just kept looking at me
“Shhh baby girl” he finally said shutting my mouth
“It’s okay ….I am fine and I not at all upset with you and how can I be” He said which melted me and engulfed me in his arms which I happily went
“Naira…Just stay like this forever! …I love it when you just be you and not a different person” He said
“Anything for you” I said which was true enough
We stayed like this for some time when he finally held me by my waist and adjusted my hair which surely sent shivers through my body
“Happy Birthday Princess'” He said
After my dad it was only him who had called me a ‘Princess’ and I just remembered​ my dad at that moment and his words he always said that one day I’ll meet someone who will not only call me a ‘Princess’ but will also treat me as one and he’ll be my man forever
And today standing in his arms I felt my heart fluttering as I had finally found him!
‘My Man’ as dad used to say
I was brought out of my thoughts as I saw him opening a jewellery case which had a beautiful diamond bracelet with ‘NAIRA’ written on it
He tied that on my wrist as he engulfed me back into his embrace
Ohh God how fortunate had you made me by making me fall for a man like him!
Yes I had fallen for him!
Truly ……Madly …..Deeply

I am so sorry guys couldn’t update for so long as I was struck with my final exams
But now finally they are over and now I’ll be updating regularly and moreover I’ll be starting with my new gf soon
And I badly need ur suggestions for its title
