Happily Everafter? episode 22

Naira’s POV

I woke up from my slumber only to find the reason of peace is missing. I panicked I wasn’t dreaming, was I? Kartik had come here, hadn’t he? I checked in the bathroom, which was empty, I was about to run down the stairs, to confirm if he had come or not, when he entered.

“What are you doing roaming around like that? You are still weak. So dare not get up from that bed.” He said. He had brought food with him, along with a bowl of soup, and a bowl of kadha bleh. I didn’t want it.

“I don’t want it, I’m not eating, take this down.” I whined.

“I don’t care. You have to eat this.” He said.

“No I won’t, it looks too bland, and kadha I can smell the herbs in it, I don’t want it please.” I said making puppy eyes in him, they always did work.”

“Alright.” He said, I was ready to jump when he added, “I had planned, even I will eat with you, but now that you don’t want this, hmm.. Oh my dear stomach, you have to stay hungry.” Damn him, using my tricks on me.

“OK drama queen, I’ll eat it. But only if you eat with me. And the same food, you won’t have delicacies when I’m stuck with these stuff.” I said, puffing my face with air.

He gave me a firm tap on cheeks, blowing out the air, “ And they call me drama queen. They should see you. And do you see anything else here, we will both eat this. Together.”

I grabbed a spoon, he pushed my hand down, shaking his head. He grabbed another one of it. Taking some food he brought it to my lips, and I pushed it to his mouth. Wanting him to eat first, I knew he wouldn’t have had eaten in so many days. Though he wouldn’t say anything. He ate half of it, and pushed rest of it to me. Well they did say, love increases eating in the same plate, we would have multiplied it by several times, using the same spoon.

He fed me some kadha, after that. I really didn’t want it. But he fed it to me as a small child. I would have anyways ate it, and I knew my stomach would also keep it.

He kept it away, and sat beside me, taking me in his arms again, keeping me by his side, I digged in, resting my head on his chest. He kept his cheek on my head. Kissing it in between, breathing deeply, there was so much to say, we were together yes, but those differences which existed were there yet.

“I’m sorry jaan.” We both said at the same time, surprised, we smiled, and I urged him to continue. “I’m so sorry, I was an idiot who didn’t understand you, I really am sorry. I never wanted to hurt you as I did. But this anger which I had wouldn’t go away.” I was confused, I thought he had come here, because I was unwell. I didn’t know if he had come to terms with this, I frowned thinking.

“I had understood your perspective just today, no don’t get too happy, I’m not saying I understood MG and his wife, just you. And I couldn’t have had stayed angry with you, even if I wanted to for longer than this.” He said.

“You took long enough though” I said, “No don’t move, I’m just saying that let’s never do this again. Promise me however angry you are with me, talk it out. Don’t disappear on me jaan. I cannot bear it. Shout at me, yell at me, do whatever you have to, but don’t dare disappear on me.”

“I promise jaan. Please forgive me, please? We’ll talk it out everytime, everytime we fight, we will talk it out before the end of the day. Do you trust me to keep my promise?” he asked. And I knew he would. He always will keep his word.

“Only at one condition. It’s not even a condition, it’s just something I wish for.” I said

“Anything love. You know that.” He replied

“Promise? You’ll give me anything that I ask for?” I asked. I was going to ask him of something that he really wouldn’t want to give me, and I knew it. I was actually blackmailing him into this, but I really was out of options.

Giving me a sceptical look, he said, “I promise. Anything which is possible by me. I would give it to you.”

I looked him in the eye, before asking him of this. “I want you to talk with maa and dad? You may take me if you want to or not. But once please talk to them. At least hear them out. If even after that you wish, we will never talk to them again. Even I wouldn’t. I will forget that I have a mother and father in law. But only this once. For me?”
