The Sitayana- Siya Ke Ram- Episode 1

INTRO: This is a recount of Goddess Sita’s life from birth to death… hope everyone likes it…. criticism and comments are welcome…

King Janak tills the land with a plough made of royal gold, for it to bear fruit after 12 long years of suffering due to the terrible drought. As his plough descends into the dry, barren earth, the land of gold against gold fills the air with its loud sharp sound… and as the people of the great kingdom of Mithila look on in the hope of seeing a miracle, the king lifts a cradle of pure gold from the ground. And as he removes the cloth that hides its contents, the shrill cry of a female baby tears the air! the people of MIthila rejoice as the king lifts the child. Suddenly, rains pour down and the whole population dances in the cool sweet rain.

Much to the dismay of the citizens and Queen Sunaina, King Janak begins to search for the parents of the child…. but he receives no news of anyone claiming the child.
Thats when he decides to adopt the child, this childless monarch of Mithila, and thus names her Sita, for she was born from a furrow. He names her Maithili for she is the princess of Mithila, Vaidehi and Janaki as she is his dear daughter, and Bhoomija as she is born of the fragrant Mother Earth.

He takes the newborn infant to the Shiva temple to gain the blessings of the Almighty. As he bows to the Lord, baby Sitas fingers curl around the string of Lord Shivas bow. As King Janak rises, so does the bow! everyone present including Queen Sunaina, King Janaks brother Kushadwaj and his wife Chandrabhaga stare in astonishment, as baby Sits lifts the bow which could not be moved by any living being singlehandedly.
