They looked at each other’s face while neil and ishana indulged themselves in a staring game…
Teji had enough….he screamed, “what the hell is going on?”
Neil looked at him with pity and sadness in his eyes…he sighed, “bro, it’s a long story….lets just get seated somewhere and I’ll tell you over food.”
Ishana looked at teji ……she was a nervous wreck, “t-te-teji….it….um,…it isn’t as it seems.”
Arjun could just see through her veil…..she was nervous which meant she was hiding something…….whatever it was, Arjun decided to be teji’s shield and to protect his little brother from whatever that may come his way.
Radhika just grabbed neil’s hand and walked to the parking lot with all others following her. They piled up in the car and Arjun drove off.
Mid way, Arjun asked, “where are we going?”
Radhika replied, “lets go to the apartment….i have cooked a welcome back dinner for these guys, enough to feed an army..” she beamed, proudly.
Neil cut her off, “any restaurant, near by…..this girl isn’t entering our apartment..”
He added after a pause, “or our lives for that matter.”
He then looked at radhika’s sullen face and gently spoke, “don’t you worry chashni…..i’ll finish all your food single handedly…..love your cooking yaar…”
Saying so he started blowing air kisses to her…..sam started laughing…..he looked like a cartoon trying to inflate an invisible balloon.

Once inside the restaurant…the group ordered food….
Arjun, “so now neil….tell us the story..”
Radhika could make out that the question troubled neil….she even felt a layer of water filming over his lash…..he was distressed….something was seriously wrong….because it wouldn’t take anything less than a mountain of issues to make neil hate someone…
She squeezed his hand assuring him of her unconditional support.
Neil gulped down an entire glass of water and looked at ishana accusingly.., “guys, I met her six years back, it was before i met any of you. She used to go to the same gym as mine. I didn’t know her….didnt talk to her….one day, she came to me and asked about one of the machines….we started talking and in a few days become buddies….for me, she was just a gym friend who I used to talk to while working out. Then slowly, she started making plans with me outside the gym….i too obliged….after about a months, she proposed to me…and I don’t know where my brains were that I accepted….i started loving her truly…and honestly…..i believed that she too had the same feelings for me…I was happy, living my life in my own bubble until one day…”
Neil paused, blinked away his tears and continued, “until one day, I came back early from the office and found her sleeping with my room mate. Its was the day of my life, the person I loved the most and the person I trusted blindly, stabbed me….betrayed me….the people who were family to me, just killed my heart.”
Radhika hugged him and Arjun patted his back….sam looked at ishana with blood shot eyes and even teji distanced himself from her.
Neil smiled at seeing their reaction, “well, it took me six years and a samaira khanna to start believing in love again….and you guys, to know what an actual family is.”
Radhika linked her arm with neil’s, and looked at ishana so angrily… it seemed as if she is going to burn a hole in her, “Ishana Rajput..you are no longer the person I used to know….that little girl cared for people…their feelings mattered to her….but it doesn’t to you….i don’t know who the hell are you.”
Sam looked at Arjun and he nodded as if giving permission to her….she spoke in a icy voice to ishana, “Miss Ishana, even the person because of whom you entered our lives doesn’t care for you anymore…and your so called childhood friend, doesn’t know you….so would it take some more insult to make you leave? Weren’t you insulted enough already?…just leave!!”

Ishana picked up her bag and scrambled out of the place, she had tears in her eyes….she knew she had made a mistake six years ago…a terrible mistake…..but now, she had matured and teji was the one she loved truly, honestly and immensely……she wouldn’t hurt him for anything…..she even had plans to marry him someday….but past had cast a shadow on her future…
She wasn’t mad at any of them….she was frustrated with her own self….it was her mistake with she was paying for six years later….

Teji sat like a statue….he didn’t know what to say…or rather what to feel….he really liked that girl….he felt differently towards….it was an instant connection betweem them…..on the other hand, he knew he wouldn’t have taken another step ahead, until his friends approved of her…..but sadly, it was a distant dream now.
Arjun saw teji and could understood the surge of emotions he was facing…he spoke in a gentle tone, “teji, you know naa…we want the best for you….she wasn’t right for you ….i mean, if she did it once, she could do it twice…you understand….right?”
Teji nodded….

Teji and ishana hardly slept that night…they kept thinking of each other and the grave mistake ishana had committed…
Besides, them another person had trouble sleeping that night….sam…..she was deeply trouble by neil’s story…and his reaction on seeing ishana….he had tears in his eyes….his face kept flashing before her eyes..
True, neil hated ishana for what she did….but he loved her truly once…maybe those froze feelings in his heart were warmed on seeing her….
“once you start feeling for someone…you can never stop…” she muttered..
She wished she would have known this before…but It was too late…she had lost her heart to neil…and now nothing in the world could prevent those from becoming one….well, unless neil wanted it…..the thought made her shiver…

The next morning….
Sam quickly got ready….and went to Arjun and neil’s apartment..
She rang the door bell twice and a sleepy Arjun opened the door…..he rubbed his eyes in surprise.
Sam spoke in cheerful voice, “get up sleepy head…get ready and off we go to birdsong.”
“sam….you here…this early…is everything okay……and birdsong…what’s going on with you?”
Sam mentally faceplamed herself….why birdsong?….she hated the company…she hated its owners, her own parents and her brother…
She forced her eyes to not start watering and forced a smiled, “slip of tongue… off we go to creative….”
She showed him her tongue and did a little dance on creative..
Arjun smiled ,she was still a little kid.
Sam , “Arjun mehra…go get ready and I’ll wake neil up.”
Arjun smiled, folded his arm to his chest..stood blocking the door way ……he teased sam, “so that’s the reason why you are here….to meet the love of your life….your neilu jaan?”
Sam felt her cheeks turning red…she slapped his cheek lightly, “nah…I am here to spoil the beauty sleep of both you handsome hunks.”
Arjun smiled and let her in….he spoke just as she was about to enter neil’s room, “samaira khanna…you aren’t any good at hiding your blushed…maybe you should work at it.”
Sam punched his arm and laughed before entering neil’s room….she sat besides him on the bed and caressed his hair….this woke neil up…
He opened his eyes…saw her ….he took her hand and curled up besides it…, “Sammy, you seem worried….what’s up?”
Sam decided to disclose her fears in front of him…she didn’t want to be overly paranoid…or to get over possessive regarding him..
Sam spoke with a little hesitation, “this may sound ridiculous neil…but I want you to answer my question….do you still have any feelings for ishana?”
