Chapter 25

Recap: Sanskar apologized to Swara and he consoled her

Swara’s Room

The shrilling sound of morning alarm woke her up. Moving a little she stretched her body then she noticed her dress, she was still in her party dress. This brought back the horrified memories of last night. Such was the impact of incident that she can still feel her shivering body. She closed her eyes to compose herself but suddenly opened it for some strange reason. Yes she saw him, it reminded her their last night conversation. How he came to offer her a shoulder to cry on when she needed the most. Hus soothing words still comforting her… unknowingly she smiled murmuring her name “Thank you Mr. Maheshwari”.

“Swara” Annapurna’s voice brought her back. She turned to look at her and to her surprise Siya was also there with Annapurna.
Annapurna: (making herself sit beside her) Swara, are you ok my dear?
Swara: yeah, I am fine…
Annapurna: (concerned) Sanskar told me everything…. Don’t worry dear that man got his share of punishment… he is no more a part of project and it’s a great loss for him..
She said nothing, just gave a sad smile…
Siya: (looking at Swara’s dress) you didn’t change?
Swara: I was tired so I forgot….
Siya: (innocently) I am sorry Shona di… I ran away from there last night leaving you alone with that bad man…. But you know what he was strong and it was difficult to fight with him… so, I thought it would be good if I tell this to dad that’s why I ran from there….. and see he saved you from that evil man.

Swara: (teary eyes) it was you who send Mr. Maheshwari!!
Siya: yes….
She immediately hugged Siya. Clinging the little girl tightly in her embrace “Thanks dear, thank you so much”

Evening, Garden area

Swara and Siya were busy in playing Frisbee along with Ananad. Siya was frowning at her missed attempt….
Swara: (laughing) Siya have patience…. You can do it….
Siya: (disappointed) I am trying….

She again picks that Frisbee disc and twirled it with full strength, it Swung and flew away. Both Swara and Anand cheered for her victory… in an attempt to pick Frisbee disk lying on the ground Swara hit her foot on a sharp stone, caused her foot to blood….
“aahhh” she winced in pain
She was about to collapse but Sanskar caught her on time….
Sanskar: (angrily) where is your mind? Can’t you see?
Swara: (flinched in pain) I didn’t see that….
He held her hand to make her walk but she couldn’t as the wound was deep…. He thought to call servant for help but for some strange reason he didn’t, his instinct told him this is his responsibility and his right. Instead, he picked her up in his arms. Shocked with his sudden demeanor she protested “No Mr. Maheshwari, I can…..

He interrupted “Don’t tell me you can manage, I know you are brave, I have seen your valor enough…. Now just keep quiet for some time”. Holding her in his arms he entered in her room and set her on the bed carefully. Tuning towards Ananad he ordered “bring first aid box”. He acted quickly on his master’s command and within no time came with one. Siya was slowly blowing air to her wound “Is it paining bad?” she asked with concern.

“No dear, it’s a small cut…. Don’t worry” Swara replied with a smile
Sanskar took her foot and kept it on his thighs…. She was hesitant at first but for how long she could resist…. Taking some antiseptic solution on cotton he slowly cleaned her wound… she flinched… “Easy, easy…. It’s done” he tried to calm her… done with the final bandage he looked at her.
“Thank you” she softly said
Sanskar: Anand take Siya to her room…. I have something to talk with Miss Bose…
Siya left with Ananad, Swara confused and surprised “What he wants to talk about?”
Sanskar (turning to her) Miss Bose do you want to take some legal action against that man?
He could see the change of expression on her face as he finished. He was displeased with himself for bringing back that topic again but he needed to know what she wants….
Swara: No…. and I am sorry
Sanskar: (confused) sorry! For what?

Swara: because of me you lost your investor
Sanskar: (shaking his head) Miss Bose will you please stop blaming yourself …. There is nothing to be sorry….. in fact it’s good, at least I came to know about that man before time, I never like to entertain such people in my business…
Swara: (concerned) will it be difficult to find new investor so soon?
Sanskar: (smiles) not at all…. We are in contact with many and it’s on us whom we should choose…. You don’t know but people are dying to join hands with us as they know this will bring them profit…
She smiled at his self praise, he couldn’t fathom the reason behind her smile….
“what?” he asked
“noting” she smiled back

Next morning, Ram-Sujata’s room

Ram and Sujata last night came back from Gwalior. The campaign was a success….
Ram: (talking on phone) NO, NO…. I told you I need some extra guard for my house…. Yeah I have my own security but that’s not enough…. I want some private guards for the safety of my family members….
He was interrupted by Sujata’s unannounced arrival in the room

Ram: (looking at her) I will call you later….
Sujata: (questionable look) What’s the matter…. Why are you asking for extra security?
Ram: nothing… just because of the upcoming elections, you know these days politics turned into a battle field….. I am just trying to guard my loved ones…

Though she wasn’t convinced with his explanation but she knew if he has decided not tell the truth no one can make him spill the beans….

Days passed like that for Swara in Maheshwari Mansion…. It’s true that time heals every wound and so it was with her…. she forgot all the bitter memories of that night. Ragini and Laksh were back at home as now her mother is fully recovered. Their coming back to home was a big relief for Swara as she was badly missing her companions. Maheshwari Mansion again buzzing with the laughter’s and giggles of the awesome foursome. Except for the little change in the relationship of Swara and Sanskar…. It’s not that they have stopped annoying each other and turned to best of friends, it’s just that now they could see the care and concern in their eyes for each other or may be more.
