Episode 4 – Part 3

Dhaani looks around her and realizes Viplav was only her dream anymore in her life. She then looks at that person and smiles.

Dhaani : Maya!

Maya is the one who helped the mother and daughter duo when they reached Mumbai. She gave them shelter in her house where she stays with her brother and sister-in-law, after her parents’ loss 5 years ago. And now Dhaani and Dulaari were also being part of the family.

Maya : Hey! What are you doing here ?
Dhaani : Nothing. Just like that.

Maya notices that sadness on Dhaani’s face and tries to cheer up.

Maya : I have a superb idea Dhaani.
Dhaani : What ?
Maya : You are on your 7th month of pregnancy. So I think it’s time for your baby shower.
Dhaani : What ? Are you mad ? There is no need of that. I am fine.
Maya : What what ? Why don’t you want it to take place ?
Dhaani : Why should we waste money like this ?
Maya : Dont say like that, I am seriously asking it.

She cups Dhaani’s face and smiles.

Maya : This is going to be the first baby in our house. And we all want to celebrate it. After all, you are also a part of our family right?

Dhaani looks at her crying.

Maya : And if you want, we will call some people from Bana…
Dhaani : (interrupts him) No, there is no need for that. I… I am ready for the function.

She goes away from there leaving Maya alone.

Maya : I know Dhaani, that you are missing your husband a lot. Dont worry, I will bring back your happiness very soon.

Dhaani’s baby shower was set as a small function at Maya’s house and were invited all the neighborhood and some friends and relatives of Maya. Some ladies came to sing songs and looking at them, Dhaani remembers her going at Viplav’s house secretly during Shalini’s function. Remembering those moments with Viplav, she gets tears from her eyes. Dulaari notices them and puts a hand on Dhaani’s shoulder to calm her down. The latter wipes her tears discretely and shows a smile seeing the invitees.

Viplav was sit in Dhaani’s room where he was staying for 7 months and was looking at some pics of hers on his phone. Seeing her smile makes him feel happy.

Viplav : It has been 7 months you went away from here. I don’t even know how you might be. But I just hope you always smile.

Dhaani’s smile gets bigger and her face shows real happiness.

Viplav : Please Dhaani, come back soon. Living without you is like facing hell.

Suddenly he gets a message from an unknown number and opening it, he realizes it was a video message. He starts the video and gets shocked. A tear rolls down on his cheek.

Viplav : Dhaani ?

It was a recorded version of Dhaani’s baby shower. He was speechless; never expecting such a moment. He looks at his phone screen where he was seeing his Dhaani. She was smiling at the guests who were blessing her one by one. He pauses the recording on her happy face and stares at it. He slowly puts his fingers on her face, when another tear of his falls on his phone.

Dhaani feels a tear rolling down her cheek and wipes it thinking.

Dhaani : This tear ?

Viplav was looking at the phone and then suddenly remembers he was in the ashram. He rushes to open the door and gets downstairs, where Badi Amma and the other old ladies were talking. Seeing Viplav coming there running, they get scared.

Sita maai : Viplav betha! Why are you rushing like this?

Viplav stops running once in front of them.

Rajlakshmi : What happened jeejaji ?

Viplav smiles looking at them which surprised the ladies. He suddenly shows his phone screen to Rajlakshmi and when she looks at the phone, she doesn’t understand anything.

Rajlakshmi : (confused) What is this ? A video of a function.
Viplav : (smiles big) Watch it carefully duffer.

She makes faces and then looks again at the screen. She suddenly sees Dulaari in the screen and takes the phone in her hand.

Viplav : (laughs) Careful my phone!
Rajlakshmi : (surprised) D… Dulaari maai ?

Rajlakshmi saying that name, she surprises all the other ladies while Viplav is looking at her smiling and relieved.

Badi Amma : What did you say Rajlakshmi ?
Rajlakshmi : (still looking at the phone screen) Badi Amma, I… (looks at Badi Amma) I just saw (point the phone and looks at the screen again) Dulaari maai.
Sita maai : Dulaari!
Rajlakshmi : Yes Sita maai. Look!

She goes near Sita maai and shows her the video while the other ladies were coming close to them and all get to see Dulaari. Suddenly the camera got turned to Dhaani who was seen sit on a big chair and everyone smiles of happiness.

Badi Amma : Dhaani betha!

Dhaani was suddenly feeling someone calling her name. But seeing around, none was really trying to call her. Dulaari notices her and puts a hand on her head.

Dulaari : Dhaani, what happened ?
Dhaani : Maai, it was like someone was calling my name. I felt hearing a voice that is quite familiar.

Sita maai : (looks at Dhaani smiling to the guests and smiles) It has been so long that we got to see Dhaani’s smile, (looks at Badi Amma) hasnt it Indrani?
Badi Amma : Yes Sita maai!

She looks at Viplav who was discretely hiding his tears and going backward to sit on the stairs.

Sita maai : (smiles) Look at her tummy, it has become so big.
Badi Amma : Yes you are right. It’s quite big.
Rajlakshmi : Obviously it will be, she’s pregnant.

Viplav smiles at their talk.

Badi Amma : Mad girl. We also know that. But hers is quite bigger. As if the kid was really bubbly.
Rajlakshmi : Or imagine if they were twins.

Viplav, attracted by Rajlakshmi’s words, gets into thoughts.

Flashback
Viplav and Dhaani, who were at the garden near the playground area, break their hug and look at each other.

Dhaani : In one condition.
Viplav : Which one ?
Dhaani : I want a baby boy and there wont be any compromise on that.
Viplav : That’s not fair. You know that I want a baby girl.
Dhaani : Oh! You already asked your wish, which was having a child. Now my turn and I want a baby boy.
Viplav : Having a child was my wish, so I will also choose the gender.
Dhaani : No. It will be a baby boy.
Viplav : No! I want a baby girl first. We’ll bring the boy later.
Dhaani : (looks at him shocked) What?
Viplav : Yes! What did you think, that one will be enough for me ? I want at least five.
Dhaani : (looks at him eyes widely open) AT LEAST 5 ? (with a cute angry face) Am I a human or a baby creating machine ?
Viplav : Dont worry. (smiles) When Viplav is here not to fear. I will help you. (winks)
Dhaani : (hits on his chest) Chii Viplav!

Viplav keeps laughing while she was hitting him.

Viplav : Ok ok stop it yaar.

She stops hitting him and looks at him smiling shyly.

Viplav : Alright, let’s make a deal!
Dhaani : What ?
Viplav : Bring twins at the first attempt.
Dhaani : Twins ?
(Viplav in present shown with the voices echoing in his mind) Viplav : Yes a boy for you and a girl for me. What say ?

Dhaani’s laughing sound makes the present wala Viplav laugh too.

Dhaani : You are really mad Viplav.
Viplav : I am indeed.

Viplav shows a smile remembering those moments but getting awake, he realizes the ashram ladies were looking at him.

Rajlakshmi : At least you got that smile on your face back.

Viplav smiles looking down.

Badi Amma : But… where have you got this from ?
